This is an update to my review about the corrosion on the strings. John Weaver, a partner at Dean Markley contacted me personally and took care of my problem in a very professional and timely manner. Not sure who dropped the ball the second time but Mr. Weaver made good. Dean Markley is a great company.

I ordered two cases of these because the price was right and I have always had good experiences with Blue Steels. When I received them, EVERY pack I opened had oxidation that looked like tooling marks or something on the unwound strings (G,B,E). It was so bad that sliding your hands up the strings would slow your hand down like they were rusty. I contacted the company. They acknowledged that there was a "bad batch". They were nice enough to replace all of the strings and sent me replacement unwound strings for the bad ones. Great, right? NO. Two weeks after receiving them, the oxidation marks appeared on ALL of the new ones. I contacted Dean Markley again WITH PHOTOS and they never responded back. 4 cases of USELESS strings.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These strings are good for the price. I have had the same set on for about 2 weeks and they feel fine. 12 sets for under 30 bucks, I don't think I'll be buying any other strings for a while.

I have used many brands of strings in the past 18 years. I used a lot of the well known brands for a long time before switching to Dean Markley 1973 Vintage Reissues. I have to say these strings are on par with the very best out there. I am very impressed with them for the fact that they produce great tone, have plenty of sustain, stay in tune and are very durable. I give these strings 5 stars!

When I first started playing I seeked the ultimate strings. The strings that would last longer, have great tone, and not break easily. After playing through many a strings (D'Addario, Ernie Ball, Martin, etc.) I found the Dean's to be the best in tone and durability. They last for a while and produce great tone until their last leg.
