These strings are fantastic! I've been playing guitar for almost 16 years and I've gone through a number of brands - Martin, Fender, D'Addario, etc. Dean Markley's Blue Steel is my choice. They tone is great from the start, a little bright before it's broken into, but it lasts a long time. They also feel great and it comes in a variety of gauges. I'm done gauges that go 58-13 and as light as 46-09. I like them light so it's easier on my fingers and it's easier to solo with the amount of pitch bends I do. If you like a little more bass, try the mediums but feel free to try medium light and find out which one you like after that. You'll be glad you did.

I have been playing music pretty much all of my life and I had never used Blue Steel strings until about 18 months ago. They are the best strings I have EVER used. They give a sound like no other no matter what guitar I use. From my Martins even to a cheaper hollow body.
If you are considering getting these strings...DO IT! You won't regret it, and you will never go back to anything else.

Quality Strings from a Quality Brand

    By Rodney Ignacio

    from Orange, CA

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

This is my favorite gauge. The medium is too thick for me, and the light is just too light. Here you get a deep enough bass line and everything that follows after to get you some of those sweet sounding leads. If you're like me where you want the best of both worlds, this is the one to get. Good product!
I do like the quality of Dean Markley in general, but particularly Blue Steel. There's a certain hum about the sound the strings emit that I really like. It lasts a long time too. I've had Fender Bullets, Ernie Balls, and Elixirs, but these are my favorite.
It's a little more expensive than some of the other brand names but you get what you pay for. I haven't complained about the quality - that's for sure!

Did I get a bad Pack?

    By Lamehand DaCraw

    from Burlington, MA

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

The pack of strings I got had one stained A string. It also had one where the ball was loose and popped off the B string. I did my best to rewind the wire around the ball and twist it, and it worked. The sound is bright and good. But I feel that I got 2 flaws in a single pack of slightly more expensive than standard atrings. Are they better sounding than unfrozen strings? I don't know, but the sound is very good now that they are fresh.

    Dull

    By Melloman

    from Manhattan, IL

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These are the dullest strings I've ever heard. I think the nitrogen froze the life out of them. If you're looking for a really mellow tone, then go for it, but there's no vibrance at all in these things.

    Nothing special

    By BC-.BQnH

    from Bogota, Colombia

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I guess I thought the cryo would mean longer-lasting, crisp tones. I didn't notice any difference between these strings and less expensive, non-cryogenized brands.

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

The packaging has gone terribly downhill, but worse, so has the intonation that one pays for. they don't last as long as they used to, and do NOt keep tone very long. I think the Cryogenic tag is just hyperbolie at this point: they are just strings, and not very good ones at that.

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

For years I have tried many different types of strings on my Takamine Acoustic and the Dean Markley Blue Steels have always held their tone best for a longer pariod of time. So now they are my standard "go-to" strings.

      Love the strings

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Dean Markley 2036 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I have used almost every brand including Elixir. The D string was always breaking. Not so with the Blue Steel ML #2036. They make my Yamaha A/E sound solid. Love them.
