I've used every string imaginable, but these offer the best combination of quality, clarity, tunability, and durability.

Incredible

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I think I'm going to be buying Dean Markley's from now on. My guitar came strung with some terrible light gauge D'Addarios, which I thrashed about until one broke. Then I swapped them out for these nice medium gauge jobs, and I could hardly believe my ears at the difference. Even the fret buzz problem I had is gone with these new strings. They're a little on the light side for medium gauge I think (My Ernie Ball pack goes from 13-56 and is still considered "Medium"), but hey, this works for me!

Dean Markleys!

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I was using Regular Slinks Ernie Balls on my Schecter C1+ and they kept getting tarnished badly. Also I couldn't bend past the 12th fret without it going out. I kept seeing good things about Dean Markleys so I decided to try them out. I got this gauge because I've never gotten something so thick. WOW I'm glad I did! The sustain is INCREDIBLE! You can hold notes forever. I can even hit the notes all the way on the 24th fret! The only problems is I can't get pinch harmonics with them easily. Being thick its harder to bend but I see that as good because it will build hand strength. Awesome strings I will use them again and in the future!

My favorites

By Andrew H.-XGzuj

from Kernersville, NC

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

These happen to be my favorite strings. I like my low strings thick and the heavy DM strings always have thick low strings. I use the wound G string (comes with both 20w and 18p) because plain G strings always seemed to sound dull on my guitars. The wound ones sound and feel much better. Most strings that I have tried are very bright, whcih a lot of people like. Personally, I do not like bright strings. These have a mellower sound and when they are brand new have almost a thick, metallic snap sound. Not a biting snap, more like striking metal on metal. Interesting, but I like it. When they get hold, they hold the mellowness quite well but lose the metallic snap. Still sound great after a few weeks and these thick ones seem to last forever.Love these things. Good mellow tone with an interesting twist. They last a long time and retain tone fairly well. Excellent strings, right here.

Love these strings!

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I've used a number of different kinds of strings, and lemme tell you, none of them compare to these. The tone is great even after lots of use, they don't wear out easily, and sound great for all styles on most guitars. I use these strings on all of my guitars, and I haven't been dissapointed yet. Buy these strings!

Meh

By Anonymous

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I've used these strings, and I don't really find anything about the strings themselves that set them apart from some of the other strings I've tried. The tone was somewhat better, but nothing really special. The "problem" I have is with this particular set. The Dean Markley 11s and 12s string have a steeper gauge curve or something for the strings. Meaning that, basically, Dean Markley makes the wound strings significantly heavier on those two sets than other companies do. This isn't necessarily bad, but I didn't like the extra tension that comes from it. You should still try the strings if you're interested, but it could take a little getting used to for, I think, no real improvement.Oh. And, the value is a bit better because the 3rd string comes with the wound and unwound style. The DM site has "20w/18p" for the 3rd string. I thought they had two different versions, but they give you both of those strings; which is pretty cool.

great.

By that guy-aQ8CQ

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I've been using these strings for a few months now, and they still sound excellent. I like the wound G string a lot because it has a much less harsh sound to it than most regular strings (at least with my guitar). Even if I lower the high frequencies and turn the tone dow,n the top strings still sound a little harsh. These more than made up for that problem with the G string. I highly recommend these to anybody.

They're just the best

By BuukYak

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I've played since I was 13 and I've used several different strings. I started out using EB Slinkys, then moved to D'Addario, among others, but the Markley 10's sound better and last longer than the other brands I've tried. If you buy them retail, they can be pricy, but it's still a good value because you get A LOT of use out of them. It's nearly impossible to pop them! I've tried.

Best $ for $ +

By Uncle Robbob

from Gulf Shores AL

Comments about Dean Markley 2505 NickelSteel Electric Guitar Strings Medium:

I am a full time musician and strings are my biggest expense. The 2505B strings were practically designed for me and my Birdland. I don't play them...They play me! They bend for Clapton, slide for Benson, & chunk for Freddy Green. They require very little pressure and maintain clarity for a longer period than most of the big name guru brands. I know what I need and a know what I can afford. This is it and more!
