I'm not going to give you my straightforward opinion yet, I'm first going to give you the facts on Blue Steels. They really are good for the price, and yes they do last longer than any ordinary nickel guitar strings. Trust me I have used Ernie Ball, D'Addario, GHS Boomers, and Elixirs. But I'm sticking to my guns with Blue Steel. From what I have seen and used, Ernie Ball Slinkys have excellent tone but rust too fast, within two weeks I felt like changing them again, and again. D'Addario's from what I have used, are not durable enough for me, and at times I get frustrated becuase they won't stay in tune at times and take a while to break in, GHS Boomers I have to say are better than Ernie Ball and D'Addario's, simply becuase they last longer than EB's and sound as good as D'Addario's, however the GHS Boomers like the D'Addario's in my opinion just aren't durable enough for me. Lastly, Elixirs. Fact, they're probably the most expensive packs of strings you can get on the market. Fact, they last a very extended period of time. I got a set of Elixirs for christmas, they're coated with polyweb or something that makes them last way longer, and they were pretty good, but it took longer for me to get used to the feel since I'm so used to the feel of regular nickel wound guitar strings. Then I turned to Dean Markley and tried they're Blue Steel's cryogenically activated elctrics, the first extended life string ever created. Let me tell you my opinion that they are simply the best, you can't beat the original! They're frozen nickel, no polyweb coating, just frozen cryogenically, they are more durable and last longer than any string I have used. Why spend $ on one set of Elixir, when you can spend on 4 packs of Blue Steel's? And the tone of these strings are just simply amazing, a nice bright tone.I suggest you stash up your wad of cash, and do your guitar a favor. Get a pack of Blue Steel's!

I've been searching for a new favorite set of strings and tried these out. I am very disappointed with the tone. First off, they just don't have that new string high-end sparkle that you look forward to when changing strings. The low and high frequencies seem non-existant with my set. The worst problem of all is the way they make pinch harmonics very difficult. I can usually do pinches almost anywhere on my guitar but find myself fighting to pull them off in easy places. You're better off with D'Addario's or Ernie Ball's.

Good strings . . . I use these on solid and hollow bodied guitars. Playing style is light to medium, mostly for studio work. Tone / tuning lasts a long time.

been trying various brands of strings for 10 years now. DR, D'Addario, GHS Carvin, everly, etc. recently settled on Ernie Ball since the sound is better than the others that ive tried but they have way too much treble and wonky mids. this is even more pronounced the newer the strings are and doesnt really go away even when the strings are near the end of their life. Finally decided to try a set of Blue Steels after a talking to a local music store. These are the way to go if you want a very balanced sound. bass was present but not overly so, mids were strident but not wonky sounding and treble was subdued somewhat but very sweet. they last forever. i play for about 6 hours a week and they last about 1-2 months. Ive never heard my ibanez SZ sound so beautiful. if youve been searching for

Used these forever. There is no other string like this. They are the crispest strings you can ever put on your guitar. I'm on the comeback road to playing & have gone through tones of other brand strings & none of them have made me happy.

Comments about Dean Markley 2552 Blue Steel Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I have played Blue Steel's for over 20 years and every time I have tried other strings and I always go back to the best strings in the world! I own 2 double locking Floyd trems and have never had an issue with intonation between changes. I highly recomend these strings to any serious musician.

Comments about Dean Markley 2552 Blue Steel Light Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been playing Blue Steels for over 15 years now, and every time I restring with something else, I find that I'm disappointed. These strings have crystal clear tone and last 2-3 times as long as other strings for me. They play like butter. I highly recommend them.

Comments about Dean Markley 2552 Blue Steel Light Electric Guitar Strings:

Yes, these strings have good quality. They sound great, BUT, the intonation is extremely unstable. The intonation of these are different with each change. If you want strings that don't require so much re-setting up the guitar, and not risking damaging the finish on your bridge due to readjusting the saddles too much, don't buy these.
