Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

To all of those breaking strings, you need to understand what the purpose of theses strings are. They are made specifically for drop tunings (i.e. low B). The whole reason why these strings are so fat is that fatter strings have more tension, and more tension is better for your guitars neck, as well playability when you are tuning your guitar way down. The reason that you guys are breaking strings is that you are tuning them to standard tuning (or, drop D), which causes far too much tension for this particular gauge of string.

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

Winters coming so I needed a set of strings that would last through it since the guitar shops are all very far walks after trying them for 2 months (almost) heres what my experience with my first set to help people decide.Overall they stay in tune, very loud strings compared to normal strings, not too much stretching like GHS or Fender Bullets (the worst strings ever), bending is not a huge issue but alternative or sweep picking at high speeds is compared to a set of say 9s.. Other than that sound wise comparing to strings everyones different.. for the value I put 3 because if the 2 strings that broke (high E and g) didnt break in 2 days I'd be fine but probably because i was experimenting with tunings to find the perfect sound.. but others have had this problem so if your after a new sound try these but if you already have a preferred set of 13s stay with those.

Perfect Strings

By Matt Adams

from Sonora CA

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought these a few months ago, trying to get my band to switch to standard b or drop a tuning, through them on my Ibanez, sounded amazing, with my bass up on a clean channel I can slap my guitar around, sounds just like a bass. With my high gain channels these strings roar and stay in tune, I'll always play blue steel.

they suck

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

These strings are the worst of any kind that I have purchased in my lifetime. I broke two of my strings within two days and I've only owned them for 2 weeks. liquid nitrogen makes things weak or maybe they didnt know that...

THE BEST STRINGS

By Deathman420

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been using these strings for about 8 years. I must say they are the best string by far. I have tried other strings just to compare, but the BLUE STEELS sound so much better. I love the fact that they make 13-56's. I tune in B standerd. If you dont believe just see for your self.

Big Bad Strings

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

These are absolutely my favorite strings. They provide real nice low tones and crisp sound. They stay in tune forever and beyond. I use these exclusively on my archtop guitars, because it souds great when played acoustically(and because I used these on my Les Paul for nearly 5 years, and the neck curved in feircely quick).Best sounding when played in drop B or D.

Amazing Tone

By RPguitarist

from Norman, OK

Comments about Dean Markley 2557 DT Blue Steel Drop Tune Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been playing guitar for about 11 years now and have gone through my share of strings. Playing primarily metal, I still like to have a crisp tone especially since I play in C-G-C-F-A-D tuning. These strings provide the perfect amount of brightness to compliment my down-tuned dark tone. Since they are pretty thick, I can chug away on all the strings and never have to worry about my guitar going out of tune. Best strings I've come across!
