OVERVIEW

Great tone and extended life!

That's right, this is the one everyone's been talking about. It's simply amazing what a little -320° liquid nitrogen can do to a guitar string. If I were you, I'd put on a set and see what all the noise is about. Twice the tone and twice the life.

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Played guitar for 9 years. Have always picked and fretted with excessive force. My hands sweat and ruin strings. I've tried many strings, Elixrs were the best but too expensive, DR, D'addario, Ernie Ball, RotoSound....nothing felt like home. Somebody told me about these strings, I bought two packs of 12s and fell in love. Unlike the coated strings (Elixr) these are super-cooled so that the molecules lock together tighter. They stay in tune better than any strings I've played. These strings can take a beating. The tone is great for 4 or 5 weeks and it still sounds decent 2-3 months later. They are cheaper than most strings so you're crazy not to try them.

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Very well built and packaged strings. The very ends of the wound strings are left plain, so they fit through tuning pegs much easier. These are on my Schecter Stargazer w/ bigsby vibrato tuned to c standard, and they work great. My only quip is that my package did not include two g strings; I only got a plain 18 gauge string for the G string. I already have some 22w Ernie Ball strings that I used instead.

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Blue Steel Strings are awesome. I have used them exclusively since 1993. A string that can handle the day to day demands of constant daily playing and performing. They last twice as long. Great strings. Use them on vintage 1975 LP Standard , 2005 LP Standard , Heritage H150CM, and Zematis GZ2700. Blue Steel strings make a great guitar sound better!! IMO best strings for an electric guitar!

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I used to use Fender bullets for the relative ease of string changes in the tremelo bridges, but I was always losing B and E strings. So I switched over to these and never went back.

The tone lasts and lasts on these strings, they're easy on the fingers, and a good price. When I tried the set with the wound G I knew I'd found the only strings I'd ever use again - whether in a cheap knock off, an inexpensive Ibanez, or my Godin, these strings are champs.

When I first got my epiphone es355 it had a brand new set of 10s just put on by the previous owner. It was hard to tune up and would go out of tune immediately when the bigsby was used. I was very disappointed. I noticed the blue steel set with the extra wound G (mediums). Ordered them and put them on...using the wound G.
Wow! Tuned up beautifully, and Stayed in tune wonderful when using the bigsby! Its a year later and I'm putting on another set... even though the first set isn't real bad. I'm sold!

When I started playing in my teens, I tried GHS & DR strings but kept snapping strings in the area that I picked. Then in my late teens I decided to give Dean Markley Blue Steels a try after I saw the good luck a bandmate was having with them. I'm 35 and have yet to snap a Dean Markley Blue Steel string. They're durable, hold tune very well, have consistent intonation from string set to string set, keep their brightness longer than regular strings, and have good tone.

And don't get me wrong, I do try different strings from time to time, but I keep gong back to the Blue Steels.

These really are my personal favorites as far as guitar strings go. I switched to these from Fender bullets years ago and have never considered going back. They sound great, they hold tuning, and they last and last and last. This set is my particular favorite because of the wound G string - I find it more comfortable to play the wound string. I see from the reviews that a lot of folks use these from fifferent tunings, but I like them fine for standard E tuning too.

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Overall, this was a decent set of strings to play. They were good while they lasted, but by the time I replaced them (seven or eight months) they sounded and felt kind of flat. Dean Markley is a good company, and they know what they're doing, but Ernie Ball strings are way better.
These strings are really almost exactly the same as normal strings. I noticed no difference from the "cryogenic" part, other than that they last longer; mine lasted about 7 or 8 months before the G snapped, and that's a long time for how much I play. They sound decent, and they feel pretty good, but they're not phenomenal.
Good quality, but they buzz SO MUCH I had to mess with them at the bridge so much to make them stop, and even then it only worked for about five minutes. When I replaced them with a set of Ernie Ball RPS Power Slinkies, the buzz stopped, so it wasn't the guitar.
Good strings for the price, but go with a set of Ernie Ball strings, they're a bit cheaper and they sound and feel way better.

                      Blue Steel 2562

                      By

Comments about Dean Markley 2562 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Markley Blue Steel 2562 strings are not just for dropped tunings; I've played them in standard tuning, with excellent results, for years. Personally, I dislike the sound of plain unwound G strings, and on many of my vintage guitars, the combo bridge/tailpieces (ala Gibson and Epiphone) are compensated for wound G. If you have a newer guitar with a bridge/stop tailpiece combo, it may require an unwound G to intonate properly. However, the 2562 set comes with both plain (.018) and wound (.020) G's, so you're covered either way.

Blue Steels are great-sounding and long-lasting, and I rarely break them, even with frequent tremolo use. I use them on all of my dozen+ electric guitars. They cost a bit more, but in my experience they are well worth it.
