Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

These strings sound good, but do not last like the company says. They was dead after one night of playing and the A string was off. Tone was very bad.

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

I've been playing bass for over 40 years, and using Blue Steels for almost half that time. Early on, I used Rotosounds (expensive), D'Addario (short life), and Ernie Ball (inconsistent...had dead strings out of the package).

I typically go for a bright and grinding tone (think Chris Squire, dUg Pinnick), and probably change bass strings more in a year than some players do in a life time (typically every other show). I've gone through hundreds of sets and never had a problem with Blue Steels. And now, they're packing them in a moisture proof barrier (way to go).

For the money, I haven't found a better bass string. I just wish it was possible to order singles (I usually kill the low E before the other strings).

      Good strings

      By Anonymous

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

I broke my G- string (pardon the pun) on my D'Addario strings and told my guitarist to pick me up some new ones at the local music store. They didn't have any D' Addario, and he bought me these. I have to say, they definitely have more output to them, but I find that they don't slap as nice as D'Addario and I also had to really mess around with my action to get the fret buzz to dissapear. Good strings though. Have been impressed, even though next time, maybe in a few months, I'll probably go with D'Addario again.

      Great string!

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

If you like the more modern bass tones, this string delivers. Very bright but still has nice lows. Not boomy at all, very punchy. I've used them for over 10 years and love them. I like the Ken Smith strings a bit better tonally, but this is my go to string.

      great

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

great sound-very alive-bright sound-initially took me several days of playing to get used to their brightness but everything else i've used now sounds dead in comparison-last decent amount of time & now on my 3rd set on my fretted warwick thum-because of the brightness i will probably use a nickel roundwound string for my fretless warwick.

      great strings

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

i play a lot of slap on my 5-string and these are by far the best strings for slap. i've had them for about 4 months now, and the sound is as good as the day i put them on. only complaint is if you do play a lot of slap, use the mediums, the lights are too stiff, but if fast and aggressive is your thing (i know i like to play like that), then you won't break these. i've finally found the strings i've been looking for, the punchy bottom end and bright highs have sold me for life!

You owe it to yourself and your guitar...

      By Two Blue Gibsons

      from Western Wisconsin

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

I tend to get a little wordy, so I'm going to spell it out right here: these strings are the single most effective upgrade you can add to ANY guitar!! The tone is fantastic, they're virtually indesctructible, and they're definitely worth the bucks! I've got my Les Paul and my ES-135 strung with them, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My enthusiasm for these strings has some of my friends thinking I'm a little nuts, but my friends who've played them know what I'm talking about. They won't make you a better guitarist, but I swear to you, they will make your guitars better!

      You will not be disappointed!

Comments about Dean Markley 2672 Blue Steel Cryogenic Light Bass Strings:

I bought these strings on a recommendation of a music shop guy, turns out its the best advice I've gotten. Bright top and punchy bottom, combined with long life. I am buying another set for my both of my basses.
