Great tone and extended life!

Gauges 50-70-85-105.

It's simply amazing what a little -320° liquid nitrogen can do to a guitar string. Put a set of Dean Markley Blue Steel strings on your bass and hear what all the excitement is about. Twice the tone and twice the life.

These are really amazing strings. I would say that they are the compromise between D'addario Nickels and Rotosound Satinless Steel strings like the RS66LD. Nice heavier medium gauge that doesn't wreck your neck. The strings are not as coarse and rough on the fingers like most stainless steel, and they are not clanky at all like other SS string. A+++ Thing Rotosound crunch, smooth feel, defined but not thin sounding, and average to better life.
Cloth windings are a nice touch.
Great and I have been gigging the same set for awhile.
Not the cheapest, but a little less than the average string

Brightest bass stings on the market

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

I bought these strings from a local music shop for 30 bucks to replace the flat-wounds that were currently on my bass. As soon as i put these things on my bass i was completely blown away. My bass went from sounding like a cheap 200 dollar bass (which it is) to a $1800 G&L bass. These are by far the best stings on the market.

Great Strings

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

Im a little surprised at some of the post on here I first bought these strings at a local guitar shop and thought they were great, but when that shop closed down recently I had to start buying them here. In any case I have many different guitars I put these on (in different gauges) including:Thunderbirds,p-bass's,jazz bass's,music man bass's, and I have never had a problem in the four years Ive been using them. I would recommend them to anybody.

Deaf man's strings are a compliment to these

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

THese strings are utterly terrible! they have a twangy sound and a very high end. I cannot find a single genre of music that the tone that these emit. Pssh, cryogenic! The factory strings on my p bass gave a much better tone than these! These are a definite disgrace to all bassists of all around the world. Just utterly terrible.

no good for me.

By tUs2009

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

I bought these on a recommendation from a friend right before a 4 week tour. I bought new strings after 3 gigs because ALL of these strings broke on me. Never had that problem with any other strings. I looked for burrs on the bridge, I never keep my bass (1972 Fender P-Bass) in anything other than comfortable temperatures and humidities, I play with my fingers and never with a pick. These things nearly ruined a few gigs for me, had I not kept my old strings in my I would have been completely out of luck. I cannot recommend these strings less with my experience with them. I will NEVER buy these again unless I'm looking to put them on someone else's bass and ruin someone else's gig.

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

I havent bought different strings in probably 5 to 6 years after I first started using blue steel bass strings on my fender jazz. Very durable and reliable tone for months and months of beating the crap out of them. They have a nice crisp deep sound. I have been afraid to try different strings.

The Best..

Comments about Dean Markley 2676 Blue Steel Cryogenic Medium Bass Strings:

I have been playing bass for 14 years. I play in a localy touring County band, but I aslo have played in everything from swing bands to classic rock to heavy metal bands. I have used many strings over he years ( mostly bacuse I could get new blues steels at biff's guitar hut out on the road)but for 14 years , I have always come back to and will always use Blue Steels. The perfect tone, feel, the perfect string. They last forever too. ( well more like 3-4 months ( and yes I play almost everyday).
