Bring your bass to life with a new set.

Gauges 46-63-80-102.

Oh yeah bass players! The Dean Markley SR2000 is one hot string! Taper-wrapping at the bridge allows SR2000 strings to vibrate more easily and longer. Their tone is unbelievable! They growl, they pop, they sing, they practically play themselves.

Comments about Dean Markley 2689 SR2000 Medium Light Bass Strings:

These strings have fantastic tonal range and life for months. I've used these for years and put heavy daily wear on them but still only need to change them once or twice a year. I've used them on my Warwick Thumb 5 NT forever and they really complement the deep rich Warwick tone. Used them on my American Fender Jazz for punchy, clear, tone. They still have bite to them and I slap them on my Rickenbacker 4003. Definitely give them a try!

a Refined sound

Comments about Dean Markley 2689 SR2000 Medium Light Bass Strings:

First of all I will say that these strings are phenomenal. I cover alot of styles (as described in the style section) in my playing. My main influences that I derive my tones from are mostly from the top Jazz, Funk, Gospel, and R&B bassists such as: Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Ricc Firebracci, Andrew Gouche, and Bill Dickens to name a few. Since I play in a Contemporary worship band in my church, and in a rock band, my main tones do not always fit those needs. I needed a string I can have a tight, crisp, clear, tone with more midrange, to a deep, yet clear bottom-endy tone and literally every in between for the other style I play. Many musicians (especially basssits)take for grated how much a string affects your sound regardless of your instrument. I use these on a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz bass which I switched out the Duncan-Designed pickups for Bartolinis that are not active, but are hot wired so that they have active output, but maintain warmth of passives. My rig is consisted of an older Fender BXR 100 with a 15" speaker and an Ibanez SW20 because the BXR doesn't have a tweeter. Both amps are run through an Alesis half-rack compressor and the Ibanez amp has a graphic EQ to get super clear high-end. Anyway for a dicerning musician these are the strings for YOU.

Comments about Dean Markley 2689 SR2000 Medium Light Bass Strings:

I use to buy a new set of strings every month for my Washburn Bantam 400. It seems they wound just go flat.I first tried these strings after hearing a bass player who used these strings. He was surprised how often I both strings; he had the same strings on his bass for years, gigging almost nightly. Plus he had that sound I was after, a deep bottom end with some spark.I've have had SR 2000 on both of my basses (Fender American Standard / Deluxe Five Strings)for well over five years and they sound as good as the day I put them on. One is strung with medium lights and the other with medium which is tuned a half step lower. Both basses have an incredible sound. These strings seemed to be wrapped with a finer gauge wire which is smoother than any other steel round wound string which is much easier on your fingers.Very easy to play, stays in tune well. I set the intonation years ago with a different set of sr 2000 and didn't have to change it with the new set. The only reason I changed them then was I was use to changing strings so frequently. Boy was I wrong!I'm buying a set today to put on a new project bass for my son. I know he'll never change the strings and probably won't have to for years.
