I bought these at a local store in a hurry for a bass I needed for a gig in less than a week. It seemed like a pretty risky gamble but I was quite surprised. I have these on a fender american special jazz bass set in drop e flat running through a marshall MB4210 and a Marshall Mb115 for smaller venues and I have to say they have a lot of crunch to their sound. I play equal parts plucking and slap bass and both sound very clear through these strings. Very lively sound.

I've liked The Misfits for some time now, and these strings caught my eye for a couple of other reasons. I liked the gauge, figured they'd be sturdy (the e popped while putting them on.) and I figured they'd produce a Bright enough tone to cut through in my Band's mix. Unfortunatley I found the tone to be flat from my Thunderbird. I switched back to Ernie Ball Slinky's, I like there Tone alot more, and I have'nt broken one in ages.

I use these strings and really like them. They got a raunchy tone and wear well. I play with a pick and the strings hold up well to the abuse. As the strings get older they still have a great sound. The heavey gauge helps when D tuning also.

I bought these just to try out, my hopes weren't to high, but when I put them on my bass I was amazed. The sound that comes out of them is like nothing I ever hear before. I play a lot of punk and metal so they are perfect for me. The only problem that I had was when I put on the E string it snapped right in half and it wasn't even tunned yet, but once I got a new one it went on easily and I havent had any problems since.

ive used lots of strings but theres one brand ill use only until the end of time!! and thats the Dean Markley Misfits Skullbusters. Theres nothing better its crunch is perfect for Punk and Heavy Metal. not that fake death metal black metal stuff i mean real Heavy Metal. plus these strings are like chease graders wich is asome for developing tough calisis on your fingers.

ok i've been playin bass for 6 years now, and i've tried, ghs boomers, dr coated strings, and warwick yellow lable strings. these skullbusters are by far the best strings i've ever tried. they got that krunch for slap, and the roar for metal, then the clean sound for rock/blues. they just sound great and i got a dean metal man ML series, behringer 450 watt combo amp, and a digi tech bp80 bass proccessor, and it all sounds good, im stickin w/ dean string from now on, i want to try the blue steel strings. don't get me wrong dr stings r good but in my opinion they don't last long.

I bought these strings for my bass a couple of days ago, and I'm loving them. Like the other reviews, the crunchy sound you get out of these is great and they're overall an excellent set of strings.
Comments about Dean Markley 8801 Misfits Skullbusters Bass Guitar Strings:
I have been using these strings for some time now, and while they arent the most durable strings, I have yet to find a set of strings that delivers the sound that these do, for the price. They are excelent budget strings, that deliver boat loads of bang for your buck. Just make sure to maintain them and you shouldnt have a problem with them, they usually last me about 3 months before I blow one out ( usually the E string) And I play with a pretty aggresive pick style, and i've tried everything from DR's to GHS Boomers, and I still love these.
Comments about Dean Markley 8801 Misfits Skullbusters Bass Guitar Strings:
These strings are completely amazing. When I put them on my custom fretless bass, the tone was as crunchy as I hoped it would be. And they hold up with the extreme finger style thrash playing I am accustomed to.
