Thanks to a special winding process, you'll experience a tone like no other.

Gauges: .09, .011, .016, .026, .036, .046.

Made of nickel-plated steel, Dean Markley HELIX HD electric guitar CL strings are custom light strings that will give your guitar a sound like no other. It took over a year of many trials for the Dean Markley team to find just the precise elliptical shape for the winding wire that make up the patent-pending, Hyper-Elliptical Winding process of the Helix HD. This shape then had to be paired with the correct winding process that would produce these stupendous results—the maximum mass for the acoustic guitar string's diameter that still maintained the string's vibrancy.

The Hyper-Elliptical Winding process results in an increased number of wraps along the length of the guitar string. This increases the mass of your guitar string, without changing its diameter or material.

More mass makes the Dean Markley HELIX HD strings have a fuller tone; more windings give a smoother feel as well as a brighter, more resonant tone. This provides a smoothness and performance unrivaled by conventional electric guitar strings.

When you press and strum a normal wrap wire, your fingers experience resistance as they go down into each depression between the wraps. With the Dean Markley HELIX HD electric guitar strings you'll experience smoothness. These less coarse wrappings let your fingers glide more easily and smoothly along the surface of the wrap wire.

Comments about Dean Markley HELIX HD Electric Guitar Strings (CL):

I like the tone of Dean Markley's Helix strings more than any other string out there. And their playability is second to none! You won't hurt yourself playing these.

These strings stay in tune well through all of the bending and playing. Heavy on the bottom (wound strings) to dig in and pull out the blues or rip off some Metal. Light on top for silky and articulate solos.

    Great Strings!

Comments about Dean Markley HELIX HD Electric Guitar Strings (CL):

Wouldn't use anything else at this time. They're easy to play, & that means the world to me after having my left wrist fused. Using orchestrated chords & bar chords is much easier then with the bronze ag strings. Not quite as loud as regular ag strings, but, if it needs to be louder, use an amp. My acoustic is run thru a house PA most the time anyway.
    Cool boxing.
I love them. I tried out a set of the Custom Lights for my Gibson Acoustic (Song Writer De EC). The arthritis has been giving me a hard time & I needed something lighter then what I could get in an acoustic string. First I was impressed with the sound on my acoustic. Second, I loved the action. I can use vibrato like never before on that ebony neck. It plays about as easy as my LP. Thirdly, I've been using the same set since June! They're still holding tuning & the intonation is still there. Only replacing them for a more lively sound. Will buy the same set.
About average price for a set of strings. Actually after I think about it, for something new, it's not priced all that bad.
