Ive seen some nasty reviews on this little guy but Ive had mine for 2 years now it it is out performing my old Boss AND is easier to use on stage because of its super bright LEDs. No amount of fog, or sun can cloud this guy. I have never had a problem with mine and I even recommend it to others. Trust me, its more accurate than the Boss tu-2
Bought this tuner 4 months ago. Mine worked well at first, but soon it started creating line noise. It was downhill from there rather quickly. Now it's a paper weight. DM failed on this pedal. Buy Boss.
Right off the bat when plugged in it did not work, then about 15 minutes later it decided to work. Getting a fine tune is damn near impossible because it tells you to tune up and down so much...when it says your in tune you are actually not, the D and G string still remain slightly off. Ive used standard korg tuners that do a better job. Save your money and buy the Boss TU-2
I had a need for a tuner I could clearly see during out door concerts. This tuner is perfect on bright sunny days you can clearly see to tune yuor instrument, It is all so spot on accurate.
This is really a good tuner as far as doing what it's supposed to do. The biggest problem the input/output/bypass/9V input, are all on top! This makes it impossible to place on a pedal board. I have turned it sideways, upside down, beginning of chain, doesn't matter where...this thing does not set right and requires longer patch cables and extra space on your board. I recommend to drop an extra few bones and get a Boss TU-2.
My only mistake was not trying it out in the store before I bought it, but I was in a hurry. It turned out to have a buzzing noise in the tuning mode that was irritating, so I called Dean Markley (I'd misplaced my receipt), and they said to send it in. In a couple of weeks, I got a new one back in the mail, and it's better than my Boss tuner. I'm very satisfied, even with the problem it started with. Those guys out there at the factory really stand by their products. It's rock-solid and easy to see in the dark, so yeah, I'd buy another one.
An amazing work of art this is. Ive had rack tuners less accurate than this, although it can be picky in the sub-harmonic tuning, it fairs quite nice in everything else. My suggestion: skip the rack and use this, the LEDs are blinding good too.
I was looking for a stomp box tuner that would keep me from having to walk back to my amp, mute my amp, turn on my old tuner that was plugged in to the tuner jack on my amp, tune up, un-mute and walk back to my place on stage. The metal housing told me right away they weren't skimping on the construction. I plugged a bass in and proceded to tune up. Simple as it gets. The LED indicators were easy to see in the light of the store. No hum, no buzz, this thing is dead quiet. I have guite a collection of tuners from years of playing and the Dean Markley PT 13 is now my only tuner for gigging. On stage in the dark its easy to read. This is a nice, sturdy tuner built to last and bargain priced. Pick this tuner up and compare it with other tuners and you'll see how well built the Dean Markley PT 13 is.
The the PT13 Dean Markley Pedal Tuner is truly wonderful. It's quality is amazing for its value. The tuner is very accurate and vibrant and I have not experienced one flaw in design. It has great features and is a highly recommended pedal for any bassist or guitarist of all levels. The battery life of this pedal is very long and it even has an optional 9v power connector. It is wonderful for onstage tuning or in any situation really. Great pedal, you will not have any regrets if you choose it.
