The only case of any kind I have found that will fit a Dean EABC Electric Acoustic Cutaway bass. It is just a teeny bit tight around the head and keys. You just have to make sure to slip it around everything before you zip it shut.

Padding is a bit on the thin side, but material is good strong nylon. Comes with light weight backpack style straps and pretty strong handles that are stitched into the reinforcing straps. Also has a medium sized velcro pocket at the front for your tuner, tabs, scale cards, picks, cable, whatever.

Frankly, it'll get the job done. When no other bag will fit your monster of an EABC, this bag will do it. I wouldn't trust it with airport security or the luggage guy at the bus station, because it won't help you there.
However to tote your monster acoustic bass around and protect it from dust, weather, scratches and dings, etc... this is the bag for the job. It'll do just fine riding around in your car or the band van, just don't stack stuff on top of it.
Bonus for the classy Dean logo on the front.
For the price, you really can't go wrong. If I had another giant bass to tote, I'd buy this bag again.

So-so value for the price, but the longest bag I could find. Unfortunately, it does not fit my Dean EAB Fretless Acoustic-Electric Bass--not long enough.

So I will be ordering the real one directly from Dean. They make excellent gig bags. SKU #548302000000000 looks exactly like the one I got with my Performer CE (appr. 47") which fits snugly, and is very sturdy and well-padded.

WHY the heck don't they give theDIMENSIONS of these bags so you know what to order?

Great for the money

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

This is a great bag for carrying and storing. Good scratch protection. There is minimal padding, so it's not good for protection against dings and dents. As other reviewers have noted, the bag fits Dean EABs like a glove. I recommend the product--just know that you're getting what you pay for.

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

I
Fits my fretless very very snugly. Basic protection from scratches and mild bumps, but no interior padding. Bottom line is if you carry this bass anywhere, you need a gig bag and this is the only one I could find that fits the EAB, so get it.
Small pocket in front for picks, cord, Vod bass amplug, cloth... Unpacked backpack style strap.
Thin and unpadded, cheap zipper may not last forever.
Well, it was the only option for carrying my WAB in a bag.

Great for the money!

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

I just received this bag for my acoustic/electric bass. While it won't protect my bass as well as a hard case, it will be more than sufficient for the way I travel. I like that the shoulder straps are removable, as I probably won't need to carry it like a backpack. The one exterior pocket is rather "thin", so I probably can't carry much in there without pressing on the bass.

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

Hey, It's a soft bag. It works. There's not a lot of padding. But it will serve the purpose just fine. I have taken my acoustic bass to two gigs now. It's great for getting the instrument from the back seat of the car to the gig.

Bag fits my EAB Bass snugly, and could use a little more padding, but good gig bag for the price and will serve the purpose well.

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

The EAB acoustic bass fits perfectly, and makes a perfect pair with the matching logo on the front.
I like the large pocket on the front of this EAB Bass Gig Bag. It can hold quite a bit of stuff.
So far, so good. No complaints of problems with the material or the workmanship.
Just the right price to go along with the Dean EAB acoustic bass guitar.

A Good Value, Lacking a little in quality

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

Definitely a good option if you're ordering the EAB (fits like a glove), front pocket is a nice feature, can't beat the price, a little lacking in quality, had some problems with the zippers catching, etc.

too small

By Joshua West

from USofA

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

I don't know why the company that makes this gig bag would cut it so close to fit the bass it is supposed to be for. I have to zip both zippers down to meet at the widest part of the bass, and it barely closes over it. Poorly planned and constructed!

Dan

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

Good price, does what I need it to (keeps the rain off the bass and easy to carry, good handles). If you think you are going to have the airport load it, or you just throw your instrument in a trunk or back of a truck, think again.
Just wish it had another pocket or a bigger one.
Only one pocket. Will hold a strap and cord and a small effects and tuner. Have to be careful with the zipper.
Seems to be made of the same material as higher priced bags. Fits the bass perfect. Unless you are 4' tall don't even think of wearing it like a backpack.
Great for the price.

Pretty Decent Bag

By Jim Peden

from Middlebury, VT

See all my reviews

Comments about Dean Playmate EAB Gig Bag:

This bag fits the Dean EAB Acoustic Base like a glove - in fact, the first time you try to bag it, you'll think it doesn't fit at all. But when it's finally in and zipped up, you end up with a nicely secured guitar with a good snug fit overall. In addition to sewn-in carry handles, it features two adjustable "back straps", so you can hump it around with both hands left to carry something else, or nothing if you wish. I gave it an "8" rating on quality only because the metal snap connectors on the back straps don't look all that heavy duty... but that's an observation not based on fact, and the fact is, an acoustic guitar doesn't weigh all that much so maybe it doesn't need magnum clips. They are steel, anyway, so I don't think they're going to break or even bend unless you back dad's pickup over them.It also has a generous accessory pocket with velcro flap on the back - about 9 x 12 inches, that can easily hold your amp cord, music, maybe even a couple of peanut butter sandwiches.Overall, a very decent gig bag for the money, and after all, it's the only game in town for a big Dean EAB Acoustic Guitar. Buy it!
