This is the best tuner pedal I've found. I was deciding between The Korg Pitchblack and BOSS Tu-2 when I found the Hardwire HT-2. It combines the best features of the BOSS and KORG.Korg is true bypass and +/-0.1 cent accuracy but has four display modes instead of tuning modes. i.e. flat tuning.Boss has the flat tuning modes but is +/-0.3 cents accurate and is not true bypass.Hardwire is True Bypass, +/-0.1 cent accurate and has flat tuning modes. Best of both.It has a super bright display. Bright blue LED when engaged and when in-tune. It's built like a tank. If your thinking about the KORG or BOSS, check this out. Great tuner and comes with some great details like a velcro pad for your pedalboard. Great buy.

I bought this pedal with high expectations. The first time I tried to use it at a gig, it wouldn't work. The lower notes wouldn't register and it just kept tetering back and forth. I had to borrow a tuner from someone else, so we could play the gig. I took it back and the guy at the store got it to work, so I tried again and it crapped out on me again. I regret buying this piece-of-junk.

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
what's not to like quiet, easy to see, accurate, rugged, like the strobe mode as you know how close your getting to pitch early on which allows you to get "on" faster. Checked it with my home Peterson and it's dead on.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
i replaced my boss tu2 with this. man was that ever a mistake, yeah its built well and the features are good but it doesn't work half the time for me. i've tried it first in my chain, last in my chain, and even alone and it doesn't track my notes at all. maybe it's because i'm in dropped B tuning but my old boss tu 2 never had that problem. i'm going to get rid of this and get the korg pitch black
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
This is the first pedal in my chain. I run it through 7 pedals and i use it on all my amps and haven't had any problems. Its a great tuner, its easy to use and the mute setting is one of my favorite options. Ive use it on all of my guitars to tune from stander to drop C with ease.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
To me, a good tuner should be the one pedal you never have to play with or think about; it shouldn't alter your tone, it should be be accurate and it should be easy to read. This pedal accomplishes all these things. It's also built like a tank and probably the last tuner I'll ever have to buy.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
I own all the Hardwire pedals. Great build quality, attractive looks and 9 volt power demands make these pedals a popular choice and the tuner is no exception. This guy doesn't track quite as well as the Boss but it does out shine the Korg Pitch Black (I've got both). A hot signal (hot humbuckers or a boost before the tuner) will freak this pedal out. (Click off the boost and/or roll back your volume knob and all is well.) If I had to pick one tuner I'd probably go for the Boss first, but the Hardwire is a close second. Worth a look, particularly if you can get one on sale for under a C-note.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
I bought this when it was first released and still use it today. Back then, I also had just switched to bass after primarily being a guitarist for over 15 years. I use 5 string active basses in my current band, either E standard (lowest string is B) or with C# standard (low is G#). It seems to work harder with the two lower bass strings on both tunings, but playing a harmonics on the 12th fret is a lot more responsive. I believe it would work better with guitars, even a 7 string. It definitely seems to eat batteries even when "bypassed" but works great with a OneSpot adapter. I like the two output options, but use the "Mute" output to silence in between songs. I think it's better than Boss's TU3 (one of my guitarists has one), but that right there is just my opinion. You're better off with a Korg rackmount tuner for bass if you don't mind going rack.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
Built like a tank, easy to read in the dark or on a well-lit stage, and totally noiseless. I chain it with 3 other digitech pedals on a bcb-60 board and have no issues whatsoever. Best tuner pedal, ever. Ever.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
I've owned this piece for about 18 months. I use it professionally on my live show pedal-board. It's fast, accurate, easy to read, solid and dependable! Yes it is TRUE bypass. This is accomplished by using a mini-reed switch. The unit adds no noise or any unwanted characteristics whatsoever to my signal chain. PERFECT score. The best tuner I've ever used.
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
I have owned the HT-2 tuner for almost a year, now and I love it. It was a tough decision for me between the Boss TU, Korg Pitchblack, and this one, but I'm happy with the choice I made. My eyesight hasn't been great since I turned 45 and so, I wanted a pedal tuner that was easier for me to read. Out of the three tuners I mentioned, this was the easiest for me to read at a distance. I always use the Normal mode for regular tuning purposes, but the Strobe mode is wonderful for adjusting the bridge-intonation on my guitars and basses. I've never had a tuner, before, that was stable-enough for adjusting bridge-intonation. Great tuner! Great buy!
Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 Chromatic Tuner:
Just received my HT-2 and have put it through its paces. My initial impression of it is EXCELLENT. Seems to be built solidly indeed. As others have said, it is build like a tank. Much larger than my Boss DS-2 and certainly heavier than most pedals. That said, I think that the greater size and added weight are benefits and not negatives. Very easy to use. Love the strobe feature. Was considering this or the Korg Pitchblack and opted for the Digitech Hardwire HT-2 instead. I'm (so far) exceedingly happy with my choice.
