I'll start by making sure you know the purpose of a polyphonic tuner, as I've seen it used incorrectly to a fault:

The best purpose of a tuner's polyphonic tuning mode is in between songs, or for a quick spot-check of tuning. During a gig, I will just give it a quick strum and let the polyphonic mode let me know if there are any glaring mistakes, which the HT-6 does correctly and accurately. If something sounds awry during a song, I'll do a quick-click of it (I use the mute mode, not the thru-mode), and a quick strum check to see if something is obviously out of whack.

What the polyphonic mode ISN'T intended to do is for tuning before a gig or when you have time. The reason being is that the accuracy of polyphonic tuning is not as accurate as the single-string tuning mode. No polyphonic tuner is. I can have polyphonic mode tell me I'm right on, but single string tuning could have me half a cent flat or sharp, but poly doesn't notice. This is intended. You won't notice close inaccuracies in performances and it gets you close to in tune on the go. If you find a string is way off, the easiest way to get it back is to single string tune it.

I love the detection mode in this tuner. It gives you full display tuning of a single string if you just play a single string.

Very intuitive, very accurate, and if you know what a polyphonic tuner is intended to be used for, it can save you a bad sounding song or two! :) (ask me how I know)

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-6 Polyphonic Pedal Tuner:

The price convinced me to buy this pedal, and I'm glad I did. It's great to be able to strum all the strings on my guitar, and be able to tell which ones are out of tune. And it seems to be accurate. Haven't had it long enough to use it in a gigging situation, but for band practice it's worked great. For the money, you can't beat this pedal.

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-6 Polyphonic Pedal Tuner:

This is quite literally the best tuner pedal ever invented. I love how I can strum all of my strings and at a glance see which one is out of tune. After trying to work with a headstock tuner for a couple of years, I have to say that they just weren't cutting it. They were just to fickle and cumbersome to work with. I wanted a pedal tuner but I wanted a very good one. After researching what was out there, I landed on this one. Excellent! Within minutes I knew I found the "Holy Grail" of pedal tuners. Highly recommended!

Easy to use tuner. One strum of all the strings tells you what you need to tweak. A single pick shows you detail on that string. Very effective. Saves you the looks and comments from your bandmates while by getting through the process in 1/6th the time.

Comments about DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-6 Polyphonic Pedal Tuner:

It's a cool pedal, but like all hardwire pedals they are a little bulky compared to boss. For the price I would buy it again, but if I was willing to spend more or find a good deal on a Boss tu-2.

Just using it for Bass application so far.....I like the STROBE mode for intonation and set up.
Large bright display makes it easy to read. It has a soft switch which is super quiet and it's built tough.
A bunch of different tuning modes and options..... This thing is the smartest tuner I've ever owned. I got mine on a super Xmas one day sale so I'm happy as heck! Only giving it 4 stars because I haven't used it for guitar......
