Comments about DiMarzio 500K Long Shaft Potentiometer:

In response to the other review where they say these don't fit a "Les Paul". First off they don't say what Brand of guitar they are talking about, but regardless. Gibson and some other few brands use SAE size pots as OEM and almost all replacement pots are metric. It's a very simple matter to very very slightly open up the hole to allow room for the new ones. Also, these are split shaft, to make the knobs fir is again a simple matter of adding more separation or less to the split.
My problem with these products is they are labeled as 500K with about 10% tolerance and of the four that I recently bought, three were only 417K and one was 440K. This is sloppy. I can buy 5% CTS pots for the same money.

Comments about DiMarzio 500K Long Shaft Potentiometer:

      .
I'm sure these are great pots but they don't fit in my Les Paul.

I had read a review on another web site saying that Long Shaft was needed for a Les Paul. This is NOT true. It does not fit. The shaft is not only long, it is bigger than on regular pot so the hole in the guitar is too small for this shaft. Also, the guitar button don't fit on those Pots.

IMHO, it should have been stated clearly on DiMarzio's web site and on musicican's friend web site what these pots are recommended for and not recommended for (e.g. Les Paul, Strat.).
I'm sure these are great pots but obviously, I didn't try them ;-)
