I replaced the Seymour Duncan little 59 I had in the bridge position of my strat with this. The 59 was just a little too timid..kind of dead sounding. Well, this thing is amazing. Clearer, more output, and it's still fine for cleans..there is no inherent distortion in the pickup, just lots of clean crisp output, with plenty of warmth. It's just a good pickup and I can't see anyone with a strat not being satisfied with this if you are looking for a humbucker sound. If you are looking for a traditional strat bridge sound with more output, this is not your pickup, as it is full on humbucker voiced.

I bought this to replace the original and noisy seymour duncan quarter pounder pickups in a Fender Ritchie Blackmore Strat. It's the hottest single coil sized humbucker from DiMarzio, and that was why I chose it. I usually use hot humbuckers and in the tonezone flavour. The Fast Track 2 does not sound like a Tone zone, and I might change it later on. The pickup does what it is supposed to, but I might like the ToneZone S better.

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
one of the real Dimarzio Awsome pickups..
worthed every single penny..
I've been using this for almost a year now., I apply this on my BRIDGE position Strat.. I feel complete now when I want to hit my distortion Rhytm, it's feel pro.. and when I want to switch to my strat neck pickups, I can hit my Hot tone with that.. I highly recomend this for a strat.. specialy for player who want a THICKER distortion on A Strat without change it into a humbucker..

Overall I am enjoying my purchase, The output is louder and the tone is more full. This pickup is excellent.
The upgrade from a single coil to this pickup was very nice. Installation was relatively easy, and tone is great.
Craftsmanship is good, tone and output reflect a good design.
Way more convenient than installing a regular size humbucker. Price couldn't be beat, however, I bought this item while it was on sale.

I play Lead/Rhythm guitar for a Power Metal band out of Cottageville, SC. and I play a Candy Apple Red Squier Strat. The fast track 2 sounds incredibly awesome. I recommend it to anyone that is serious about either playing guitar in a band or as a solo artist.
Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
I dropped this pickup in my strat, replacing a SCNoiseless in the bridge (which was a very quiet, low output pickup). My goal was to have a hot single coil sound-not a humbucker sound and I more than got what I was asking for. This pickup is sick, super tight, not too thick...not to over the top, just very focused rock and roll.Would highly recommend!
Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
I installed this in the bridge of my Indiana strat copy. Some ask why? It has added so much range and sustain for ever and ever. Lows are deeper. It doesn't have the single coil quack that I'll miss. I have purchased a middle and neck pickup and my son asked me why I didn't buy another guitar? I couldn't tell you? I'm looking for a sound and I like what I've done so far.
Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
I put this in the bridge of my '07 Mexican Strat. I needed a brighter tone with more distortion for my band. The fender stock pickup wasnt bad but it always sounded like I have a pillow or something in front of my amp, sort of muffling the sound. Well I order this and installed it and I could hear the difference immediately. Palm mutes and high gain sound great with this, and it really brightens up the tone but with a lot of distortion. Like a combination of a covered humbucker and a single coil, it has a really unique sound. Real pricey though.
Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
I've got this in my Jay Turser, and I've gotta tell you, what an improvement! My guitar had ZERO sustain with the stock pickup, now I can play a metal solo and it will actually sound metal, I can get desirable feedback and harmonics now too, I use this PU with two Choppers and I've got a great rich tone that can really let a solo cut through. Best Idea I ever had, although, next time I'm getting a new guitar, and probably using this pickup in it!
Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:
This pickup is Seriously a metal Pickup. I own an old school Highway one American Fender and I bought this for The bridge. I have a little Marshall 15 Watt and This pickup Still sounds Crazy good. Sure Fender Craps out When it comes to Grounds half the time and Now I can Humm into my guitar and make it Scream But It is still wicked Bad! My Friends Used to Rag me in the Fact that a strat is not metal.....This Pickup Shuts them Up!
