OVERVIEW

For a tightly focused jolt of power to crank your amplifier into rich overdrive!

Like a Chopper on steroids, the Fast Track 2 is a pedal-to-the-floor, side-by-side, twin-blade monster. It's got 3 times the output of an average single-coil, with a huge midrange punch. It's a bridge-position-only pickup with a powerful crunch and grind designed right in. Mix the Fast Track 2 with Fast Track 1 and Chopper pickups for an extremely hot, tight sound from any guitar with 3 single-coil pickups. Recommended for bridge position for all Strat-style guitars. The dual-blade pole pieces can handle all string-spacing options. Think of it as a single-coil-sized version of the Super Distortion or Super 3. Using a 500K volume control will open up the top end. The best neck and middle pickup combinations with the 2 would be relatively hot models like the Fast Track 1 and Chopper You can also mix it with models like the Virtual Vintage line, if you're prepared for the jump in power of the bridge position.

See recommended accessories on this page for the Chopper and Fast Track 1 pickups.

FEATURES
  • 3 times the output of an average single-coil
  • Huge midrange punch
  • Bridge position only

If you think you can handle this kind of power, put it in the cart. But don't say you weren't warned.

I replaced the Seymour Duncan little 59 I had in the bridge position of my strat with this. The 59 was just a little too timid..kind of dead sounding. Well, this thing is amazing. Clearer, more output, and it's still fine for cleans..there is no inherent distortion in the pickup, just lots of clean crisp output, with plenty of warmth. It's just a good pickup and I can't see anyone with a strat not being satisfied with this if you are looking for a humbucker sound. If you are looking for a traditional strat bridge sound with more output, this is not your pickup, as it is full on humbucker voiced.

I bought this to replace the original and noisy seymour duncan quarter pounder pickups in a Fender Ritchie Blackmore Strat. It's the hottest single coil sized humbucker from DiMarzio, and that was why I chose it. I usually use hot humbuckers and in the tonezone flavour. The Fast Track 2 does not sound like a Tone zone, and I might change it later on. The pickup does what it is supposed to, but I might like the ToneZone S better.

one of the real Dimarzio Awsome pickups..
    worthed every single penny..
I've been using this for almost a year now., I apply this on my BRIDGE position Strat.. I feel complete now when I want to hit my distortion Rhytm, it's feel pro.. and when I want to switch to my strat neck pickups, I can hit my Hot tone with that.. I highly recomend this for a strat.. specialy for player who want a THICKER distortion on A Strat without change it into a humbucker..

    Fast Track 2

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

Overall I am enjoying my purchase, The output is louder and the tone is more full. This pickup is excellent.
The upgrade from a single coil to this pickup was very nice. Installation was relatively easy, and tone is great.
Craftsmanship is good, tone and output reflect a good design.
Way more convenient than installing a regular size humbucker. Price couldn't be beat, however, I bought this item while it was on sale.

I play Lead/Rhythm guitar for a Power Metal band out of Cottageville, SC. and I play a Candy Apple Red Squier Strat. The fast track 2 sounds incredibly awesome. I recommend it to anyone that is serious about either playing guitar in a band or as a solo artist.

    Best Single Coil Ever

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

I Put this In my Martin Stinger and it became a sheer monster. The Other two pickups in it are horrible, but this one totally dials them out and makes up for where they lack. It sounds very low and pleasing when clean. However it realy shines when it is given some good distortion. it screams like a demon with lots of mid-range and low crunch and grind. The only problem I can find with it is that it takes away A LOT of your high frequencies. But that's sorta what it's supposed to do in order to give you that low growl when distorted. Overall it is an amazing pickup. Buy it...In red, 'cause that looks real good in a dark finish guitar;)

Best single coil sized pickup out there.

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

I bought this pickup to put in an OLD Epiphone strat-style. I'm not a fan of the single-coil's "60-cycle hum" so, naturally, I hated the stock pickup. This little humbucker amazed me. The tone is a little brighter than a conventional humbucker, but it still sounds amazing. I would definately recomend this to anyone wanting a heavier sound out of their standard strat.

    Beast of a pickup

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

This pickup is Seriously a metal Pickup. I own an old school Highway one American Fender and I bought this for The bridge. I have a little Marshall 15 Watt and This pickup Still sounds Crazy good. Sure Fender Craps out When it comes to Grounds half the time and Now I can Humm into my guitar and make it Scream But It is still wicked Bad! My Friends Used to Rag me in the Fact that a strat is not metal.....This Pickup Shuts them Up!

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

I installed this in the bridge of my Indiana strat copy. Some ask why? It has added so much range and sustain for ever and ever. Lows are deeper. It doesn't have the single coil quack that I'll miss. I have purchased a middle and neck pickup and my son asked me why I didn't buy another guitar? I couldn't tell you? I'm looking for a sound and I like what I've done so far.

    Great Pickup

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

It's a good pickup and it does what it is meant to - replace a single coil to get a humbucking sound. Very good distortion or overdrive. Pickup great for rhythm, not the best for lead, though.

    10 years and still shredding

    By TreR69-193MI

Comments about DiMarzio DP182 Fast Track 2 Pickup:

I bought the FS2 for my Strat in 1993 and it is still shredding like a Tasmanian Devil. Tons of punch is this pickup's calling card. One thing that has not been mentioned on this page are the wiring options available with this PU...it can be tapped for a straight, clean single coil tone, and it can be wired in and out of phase with the middle PU. The instructions that come w/ it show the diagrams for several wiring options. Once I was goofing around and wired the FS2 into the neck position...not a good idea, it sounded terrible. The writeup from DiMarzio is correct about this being a bridge-only PU. I bought this PU because I wanted the highest output unit I could buy without routing the body of my guitar for a humbucker...10 years later I still highly recommend it...
