All that single-coil sound and none of the noise.
No humbucking pickup sounds exactly like a vintage single-coil, but the Cruiser is about the closest you can come. We make one coil the woofer, and the other the tweeter. This extends the range of the noise-canceling design, and allows us to enhance the best qualities of each coil while fine-tuning the output. DiMarzio calls this their dual-resonance design, and it's patented. There is less magnetic pull, and it still sounds clean, clear, and bright.
Recommended for bridge position with DP186, or neck & middle with hotter bridge like Fast Track 1, Chopper, Pro Track, or full-size humbuckers (See recommended accessories box on this page).

Just that sound that I was looking for!
Love this sound! If you like Andy Timmons sound, Electric Gypsy, well, that's a part of it:) They are logical modern evolution of single-coil pickups character: they have that sincgle-coil spark, but in the same time they have more output, they sound fuller: great lows, sweet highs, just what I wanted. And they great in neck and middle position, they also sound great both.
Great quality, I've got only positive experience with DiMarzio pickups.

When I tried this pickup at the store after having it installed, I immediatly liked the new sound coming from my guitar. Its important to mention that I installed this in the neck position of my MIM fender Stratocaster Standard. I play into a fender blues deluxe set clean. All gain comes from pedals. I had been using a suhr FL classic pickup in the neck. Suhr produces quality pickups, however, i found the noise and brightness from the classic single coil unusable in a live performance- at least for my style.For my solo sound I go for a warm, smooth sound that doesnt hurt the ears in the treble department. I play with only a moderate amount of gain from a xotic bb preamp and ep booster.This pickup is very mellow compared to the Suhr fls yet it is bright enough that is does not sound dull. It also works well with my middle pickup (Suhr fl classic) in the neck/middle position to give a very crystal clear clean sound. I am very satisfied with the sound. It works well as a nice mellow rhythm pickup that supports the band instead of standing out too much. it stays warm and compresses nicely with overdrive with no harsh edge.
Very satisfied with the Dimarzio dp187 Cruiser. I'm a first time user of Dimarzio pickups. I am happy I took the risk of making this purchase. In the neck position, this pickup is naturally inclined to make very pleasing tones eq wise. Although it is a humbucker, it is voiced very closely to a single coil. It supports my playing style and doesn't force me to drastically change any eq settings on my amp or pedals.
Its a pickup. Not much to mention about features. I got the creme colored pickup, it was darker then expected, otherwise fine.
The quality of this pickup is top notch. All of the components are of a high quality and wont break easily if taken care of. I expect to use this pickup for many years to come.
The price is reasonable. less expensive then the Suhr pickup that I replaced it with.
