        Comments about DiMarzio DP191 Air Classic Bridge Pickup:

        Tone is very subjective and pickups are a big part of the tone equation. I installed a DP 191 bridge and a DP 190 neck in my Les Paul. These pickups are as advertised, very airy and three dimensional they also react very well to the tone and volume controls on the guitar, more so than I expected and that really broadened the tone pallet more than I expected. These have been a joy and anything that makes you want to pick up your guitar and play has to be a good thing

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        DiMarzio DP191 Air Classic Bridge Pickup

        I installed this pickup on a PRS Custom SE Semi Hollow guitar. When combined with the Air Classic neck pickup it gets that nice notch sound that I like so much for classic rock and pop rhythm parts. When used alone, you can go from twang with the tone control wide open, to a nice rock crunch with the tone rolled back to 4 or so. Also good for fingerpicking.

        The tone is very balanced, and is a lower, vintage output humbucker, not a "hot" pickup model, which is great for my little tweed style combo amp that does not have the gobs of headroom such as that found on a Fender Twin.

        This one's a keeper.
        Comes with everything you need - screws, springs, instructions, and warrany card.
        No issues with build quality; you get what you expect, and good quality pickup.
        Attractive pricing for a good quality pickup.

        Clean and clear

        I have an ESP MH-250NT that needed a bridge pickup that would maintain its clarity at high levels of volume and distortion, and the Air Classic blew me away. The string volume is nicely balanced across the board and I get great sustain, which I need with the flatwound strings I use. Even on my 10W practice amp with the gain and distortion cranked up to "buzzsaw" I can play most open chords and pick out each individual note (G still gets a tad muddy, but that's G for you) which makes this a great pickup for playing rhythm.

        I combined the Air Classic bridge with the Air Norton in the neck, which gives me the clarity and punch that I'm looking for. Now the guitar I bought for this price sounds and plays like it's worth a lot more!

        I've been s user since 1998. Tight PAF character, doesn't get muddy! Very responsive to one's technique, wether it be legato or staccto, this pickup delivers. If you want a chilled-out PAF PRO, in my opinion this is it.
