I took my low end Ibanez GRX that plays great and put in the PAF Joe in the neck also with a MO'Joe in the bridge with parralel wiring. This combo automatically turned this guitar around. It sounds amazing and really expresses notes and chords, especially the low end strings up on the neck are clear. No muddyness, notes really come out and sing. I think I understand "tubular" now but if anything this makes my Crate solid state more Tubular. Can't wait to switch it to Coil-splitting and see what that does. If ya like a fat, warm, in your face, clear tone then go for this combo.

i tried this pickup on my ibanez rg 1620x ,it sounds awful,no warm ,no bright,no treble,no harmonics, first i thought myabe the wiring was not ok, i called the dimarzio company to get better wiring then i called ibanez company to compare, i tried different kind of wiring with no help, i have dimarzio breed bridge pickup it is really very nice,so now i'm gonna finish this nightmare and buy another breed or evolution for the neck position.

Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
The PAF Joe is the best neck pickup I've ever played. Dimarzio and Satch hit a home run with this pickup. Although I like Satriani's playing, I was looking for my own tone. The tone is bright but not brittle. Nice warmth and very musical. I solo a lot with the neck pickup on the higher frets and it SINGS! It's bright enough to never get muddy and is throaty in the mids. Very tight low end. A very liquid feel for neck position soloing. Not a high output pickup but that's not needed in the neck spot. But it's tone is sweet and "tubey" when playing clean and aggressive, tight and clear even with very high gain. SWEET!! It's a great match for my Dimarzio Norton in the bridge spot.

Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
The PAF Joe is the best neck pickup I've ever used. It has a 3D roundness to the tone that brings out the best of your guitar. It's fat on the high notes and tight on the bass notes. It's the first "HD" pickup I've ever heard. This one is a winner!

Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
Tried this as the neck p'up in two guitars: a Fat Tele and an Epi Les Paul Custom, both with 500k pots, a 0.022 uF cap on the on tone pot, and the treble bleed mod on the volume. It was lifeless in the Tele but gave the LP Custom the rhythm voice I was looking for. The bridge p'up in the LP is a DiMarzio AT-1 (Andy Timmons model), which pairs nicely with the PAF Joe.
Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
I had bought a used Ibanez s470 love the way the guitar played but man did it sound horrible with the stock pickups I used to play with nothing but EMGs. one day i decided i wanted to try something different so i was checking out pickups at my local guitar store and they had put on a joe satriani video well you get the picture i bought them and man did they blow me away. I would recommend these to every one
Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
Before I got this pickup, I had only one functioning pickup in my SG style DeArmond guitar. I bought this to replace the cruddy broken stock neck position pickup and OH MAN does it kick BUM!! It is very good for clean playing and moderate distortion, but i prefer my dimarzio PAF Pro for heavy metal playing. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this if you wanna sound like Clapton, Stray Cats, or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Purchased this along with a Mo'Joe to replace stock pickups in my Ibanez RGT42DXFM. Needed something with enough bite to cut through the mahogany body, but didn't want a super-high output pickup. This pickup did the trick. Performs as advertised, I get a great sound clean/overdriven and individual notes remain clear across the fretboard.
Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
I recently had this pickup installed in the neck position of my Ibanez S470( With an Evolution in the bridge position...) and this thing sounds straight lovely!!! It is nice and full bodied, but not to dark, and not at all muddy. My intention was to have the bright, sparkly Evolution in the bridge, and this in the neck, but now that I can hear them both in comparison, it makes the Evolution sound bright and dry. I my be putting one of these in my bridge position in the near future...
Comments about DiMarzio DP213 PAF Joe Satriani Pickup:
I have Satch's 1st signature model from 1992 with this pickup in the bridge. it is 16 years old but it still ROCKS! This pickup screams, wails, crys, talks, everything! Harmonics are incredible on it! Especially with a Floyd-Rose or a Lo-Pro or an Edge tremolo. it is an INCREDIBLY VERSATILE pickup! BUY IT! You will not regret it!
