OVERVIEW

Tight sounding with a distinctive voice.

Jake Bowen is one of the new generation of guitarists on the cutting-edge of progressive rock. His sound is helping to redefine rock guitar, and his pickups play a major part. The Titan Neck and Bridge Model pickups were developed for his new signature guitar by Ibanez.

Jake's bridge pickup is crucial to his sound, and the most important feature is that it needed to be tight. It also needed to have good dynamics for right-hand playing yet still keep the aggressiveness and mid-range that Periphery's music calls for. The Titan Bridge Model is at home with both standard and dropped tunings. Additionally, Jake shares that "it's a very tight, aggressive palm-muted sound when I do palm-muting strokes but - when I play open chords - everything rings out very nicely."

Recommended for bridge.

Tech Talk
Many high-output pickups are either very bright or very dark. The Titan Bridge Model is bright where it needs to be - on the low end. The highs are warmer, and the Titan has a distinctive voice that doesn't get lost, even in a dense, three-guitar mix.

Comments about DiMarzio DP259 Titan Bridge Humbucker Pickup:

I tried several pickups before finding this one. The Dimarzio Titan bridge ROCKS ImI It's the best sounding, tightest bridge pickup I've ever played. This pickup is so tight that you have to be careful not to get too heavy handed with your palm mutes - it's nearly like having an on / off switch! Before getting this pickup, I tried the Seymor Duncan Pegasus but it has too much upper mids for my liking. I also tried the SH-4 (JB) which has great crunch but lacks clarity. I also tried the SD Pearly Gates bridge pickup, stock Gibson humbuckers, and the new Dimarzio Illuminator. All the pickups I tried are good pickups, but the Titan beats them all hands down for heavy, palm muted music while maintaining good clarity, and a well balanced tone. The EQ of the Titan accents the low to middle midrange, and has a much more pleasant sound to my ears than anything I've tried from Seymour Duncan. With the Titan, you get nice crunchy palm mutes without harshness. The pickup also sounds awesome clean and it sounds great when used in combination with my Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup. I know the amp rig and guitar make a huge difference - so here's my rig - for my full distortion sound I use a Maxxon OD808 driving the Lead1 channel of a Marshall DSL50, 4x12 cab with V30s. My guitar is a Fender FMT Tele (carved maple top, mahogany body) This pickup is the perfect compliment to my rig. For progressive rock, modern rock, alternative, or metal, I don't think you will find a better pickup! Try it! You'll like it!

Comments about DiMarzio DP259 Titan Bridge Humbucker Pickup:

I really have not played a better pickup, and I've played a lot.

This has beaten the Bare Knuckles that I've played. The pickup is super versatile and CRYSTAL clear. It can play djent, death metal, thrash metal, metalcore, deathcore, hard rock, etc. Anything

Honestly, I'm not TOO found of the cleans, but I hardly even use the bridge for cleans, so....

Comments about DiMarzio DP259 Titan Bridge Humbucker Pickup:

I put this in the bridge position of a Jackson SDX. It screams. Its really really awesome. I play a lot of styles and for high gain it really shines. Its a fantastic all around pickup. Well done DiMarzio.
