Comments about DiMarzio DP421 Area Hot T Tele Bridge Pickup:
I have a Fender Custom Shop Light Relic Tele, and as much I love the guitar and hate to modify it in terms of resale value, I bought it for the specs, feel, and to play it, not sit there and look at it. It suffers from the usual Fender tele pickup problems, whether they are 'vintage' types or not - mainly too bright, too thin, and too low output when moving around against humbuckers in Les Pauls, etc. Makes it difficult to dial in a variety of sounds if the instruments have absolutely nothing in common.
SO - I bit the bullet on this pickup, having had previous experience with Dimarzio's for many years, them being after all among the first in this aftermarket business in the late 70's. Always preferred them over the Duncan's - Duncan's never seem to sound like the guitar they are attached to - being too brittle and unbalanced sounding and lacking detail - very mass produced (to me).
With a sigh of relief, I find I really like this pickup. It does sound a little different than the stock, but in all the right ways if you want to use overdrive on the treble pickup. It is warm and focused, has great detail for purists, nice output without that spikey treble, and handles clean sounds as well as more agressive rock and blues sounds. It is absolutely noiseless, and does to me continue to transmit the 'Telecaster' character of my instrument, unlike the comments by a previous reviewer.

Comments about DiMarzio DP421 Area Hot T Tele Bridge Pickup:
My guitar is a US Northern Ash Body Maple Fingerboard standard Telecaster. This pickup is the perfect tone for classic rock and hard rock and it doesn't try to turn your Tele into something it's not. You get to keep all the Tele goodness but when overdriven the treble seems to smooth out and good sustain. I have tried the Chopper-T, Air Norton-T, and standard Area-T bridge but this is the one that gave me what I was looking for.
Comments about DiMarzio DP421 Area Hot T Tele Bridge Pickup:
I was never a tele player cause of the high end that is just ice pik annoying! especialy the bridge p-up.Well after installing these on my tele bridge and hearing a big warm twang,I'm diggin it! and playing the tele more! It even surprise me how warm and pleasant it was during a live gig. The high end was never over the top,it was there but nice and warm. I highly recommend it specialy if your gonna be playing heavier rock tunes using a tele. Another big plus is,no single coil huuummm!!! Over all it has nice big warm low's and mids and a sweet tamed high end.
