I use a magnetic PUP in conjunction with a set of K&K piezos. With the Sunrise, I would try and get as close to an acoustic sound as I could and then dial in the K&K's for that added shimmer. I can get much closer to the natural sound with the Angel as it has it's own kind of natural openness. With the piezos added, it is stunning. With the K&K/Sunrise combination, I have had to send the signal out to the K&K preamp in order to get my mix. I plan on getting the whole Angel System, as you can get your mix from the sound hole. The whole Angel system sells for a little less then just the Sunrise Magnietic PUP. What a great deal! I have been waiting for someone to do this for a long time. Thanks, DiMarzio!
I have the Sunrise and have been using it for years. My only complaint about it is the it has a mid range honk and a "woofiness" that I can't eq out. Somehow Dimarzio was able to give me what I was lacking from the Sunrise, but at $100 less.
Hey, it is from DiMarzio...what would you expect? Quality is top notch. Nice and solid and weighs about the same as the Sunrise.
Again, the best thing out there for years in a magnetic PUP has been the Sunrise. DiMarzio built a better PUP but for $100 less.
