If you're looking for pretty sound, don't go here. If you're looking for pretty crazy, this is it.

What's the story with 7-string guitarists? They always want more; more strings, more bass response, more notes to play with, and of course, more power. The DiMarzio X2N 7 is the answer.

Like the original 6-string model, the X2N 7 is ridiculously loud, but the coils have been totally redesigned to capture the entire frequency response of all 7 strings. And for players who experience occasional moments of sanity, the parallel humbucking and split-coil modes are available for cleaner and quieter sounds.

Recommended for the bridge position on solidbody guitars.

Great pickup!!

By Stagebreaker

Comments about DiMarzio X2N 7 DP705 7-String Pickup:

I went on reviews here to get a pickup to replace the crappy stock one in my newly acquired, cheap-ass 7-string. I have a Washburn Diembag model (the one that retailed around $800) with a Seymour Duncan Full Shred in the bridge and it sounds amazing so it was either that or the X2N-7. I'm glad I got it! Super hot and awesome harmonics! It picks up the pick attack very well without being all treble. On clean the stock neck pickup is very clean but when you switch it to the X2N-7 the output is way hot and you get just a hint of gain. For some reason unknown to me I have never liked twin blade pickups but I'm in love with this pickup!

One KILLER pickup!

Comments about DiMarzio X2N 7 DP705 7-String Pickup:

I've had one of these in my Ibanez RG7321FM for over a year now, and after having spent a year with it, and finding all of its sweet spots, I can say that I am still in love with it.Yes, this pickup is hot. But, I found that if you lower it down towards the body a bit, you can get a really sick sound out of it. It still distorts really well, even when it's lowered down, that's how much output this thing has.I have a Blaze Neck in the same guitar (neck pos, obviously), and in the middle position of the switch, with some roll off of the tone and volume pots, you can get a really "classic" tone out of them. And despite it's high output, it's still really clear and reacts to picking changes quite easily. All in all, if you want mass amounts of power in a bridge pickup, this will probably be a dream come true for you.

Comments about DiMarzio X2N 7 DP705 7-String Pickup:

This is an all around solid pickup for anyone playing anything with high-gain.It sounds much better and gives a higher output than the EMGs I have in another guitar. All around, Solid pickup for the money.

A great metal pickup!

Comments about DiMarzio X2N 7 DP705 7-String Pickup:

Insane amount of output,a great pickup for metal but although you can switch in parallel and coil split it, does not have a pristine clean...Recommended for those that like extreme music!
