More presence and brilliance without AC hum!
The DiMarzio YJM Prewired Pickguard has YJM single-coil pickups in the neck and middle position. A DiMarzio HS-3 pickup is in the bridge position. All 3 pickups are hum cancelling. This is the exact pickguard setup that Yngwie Malmsteen uses in his signature Strat in the studio and on tour. Prewired to the Yngwie's specifications, this DiMarzio pickup and pickguard setup comes complete and ready to mount to your electric guitar.
You might not realize it from his music, but Yngwie Malmsteen is a vintage Strat collector, and he swears by his '50s and '60s axes. He also swears by the HS-3 pickup, and he's always wanted a vintage magnet-stagger version to go with his best guitars. While there is still a strong resemblance to the HS-3, the YJM pickkup has more presence and brilliance, particularly on the high strings, and still no 60-cycle hum. Yngwie uses it in the neck position of his main guitars, and it's also the standard neck pickup on his signature model Strat.

I installed the YJM pickguard on my Bullet strat several weeks ago, only ground from the tremolo to solder to a pod and 2 long wires from the YJM pickguard to solder to the jack. Note: if you get a hum after plugging in then reverse the soldering of the long blk and long white wires on the jack, like I did. Ha! The pickguard is pretty thick 3-ply and the pickup switch is a 3 position. Once installed and plugged in, there is no static noise when rubbing your fingers on the pickguard. The top tone control?s the neck pickup and the bottom tone controls the middle and bridge pickup (cool!). It was a tight fit on the Bullet and the pickguard anchor holes did not line up completely. As well, it lightly touches the vibrato bridge. There is no hum and talk about some awesome smooth single-coil screaming with the gain up! Also, there?s plenty of clean tones in all pickup positions to calm even the most excitable of you?s. In my opinion, this is the best product since the invention of electric guitar strings!
I'll say one thing about this. It's good stuff, but it is not the exact setup that he uses. In an interview he tells that he uses the HS3 in the bridge position, the YJM in the neck position, and a stock fender pickup in the middle position. May be on his custom shop signature fender that you can buy on here, but not on his others. But don't get me wrong... It's a great setup.
I just purchased this pickup configuation because I love Yngwie Malmsteens tone. This pickup configuration was extremely east to install and only takes about 30 minutes 2 wires and new strings and youre rocking !! Please be advised you will need a noise gate with these pickups but the tone is awesome though a marshall. If you want high output single coil pickups with little to no noise buy a fender american deluxe guitar with SCN pickups.
