Comments about DR Strings Black Beauties Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

unimpressed. Bought them for the color against my plain black fret board. Looked cool when they went on, but had the strange effect of feeling thick, yet sounding tinny. Coating comes off pretty fast over the sound hole even with a light pick. Don't know how long they would have lasted because I changed them to a set of elixers after a week.

I put these on my new HD-28V and they are the worst sounding acoustic strings I have ever tried. I Threw them in the trash. Muddy sounding and dead.

Comments about DR Strings Black Beauties Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I like coated phosphor bronze strings. Have used Elixirs forever. I tried these on a carbon fiber guitar because they were black, and I will admit I wanted to look cool with an entirely black stage guitar. These strings have no bottom end and are thin, tinny, and very midrange forward. I had them on my guitar for three days (3 gigs) and the black coating was already worn off over the sound hole. The coating itself is not smooth and consistent either. I could feel burrs all over the wound strings. I didn't like these strings at all.

Comments about DR Strings Black Beauties Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I usually use jazz strings on my acoustic but decided to try these. They really sound good on my Paramount guitar which was made around 1940.

            All good !
It's true, these strings sound better, than uncoated strings ,have a great feel and look.
First time I have used these, but going by past experience with DR, they will most likely get a 10
