These are nice if they're on sale. Would I buy them over my usual elixirs? No. But for the price they're nice to have as backup strings.

Not for the hard pick player

Comments about DR Strings Cool Blue Coated Electric Strings Medium (10-46):

These are great strings for the price which was obtained through stupid deal of the day. They look really pretty on the guitar I put them on, which was a champagne colored Fender Telecaster with a maple neck, so the blue strings gave it a unique look. However after a week of picking with a heavy pick the blue coating started to chip away on the B and low E string. The tone is good, not spectacular. They make for good practice strings by my playing standard but may be used for gigging by others.

Comments about DR Strings Cool Blue Coated Electric Strings Medium (10-46):

I rarely give such negative reviews, but these strings are terrible. Sounded awful. Tried more than one set, and yes I strung them according to directions. Very difficult to play because it felt like they were moving away from (or rolling away) form my fingers. Very frustrating. I have used other DR strings with some success , they will never be my main strings.

I bought myself these after playing my friend's guitar with the red version on. I couldn't believe how much lighter they felt than my elixirs, despite being the same gauge. I restrung my guitar and it looked really stylish, tone was a little on the dull side, but I prioritize feel and durability over that. And sure enough, they felt awesome. BUT, I bought 3 boxes and in 48 hours, I've broken all 3 of my high Es. Perhaps I'm going back to Elixirs.

Comments about DR Strings Cool Blue Coated Electric Strings Medium (10-46):

Im new to guitar, played bass for many years, but been 10+ years since ive played anything, so take from it what you will. I started playing an acouatic a year ago and bought the bla k beauties and were very happy them, so I picked up the cool Bluea for my squier strat. The sound is consistent a little more of a muffled than a plinky sound. Strings are very comfortable to play and seem to hold in tune very well.
