Gauges: 10, 13, 17, 26, 36, 46.

DR Strings NEONs are super bright color-coated strings that sound clear, bright and musical. These Multi-Color Medium Electrics are an excellent idea for those learning to play or just wanting to add pizazz to their rig. It's easy for players to fall in love with the bright color that matches their remarkable sound. These strings will last you as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) maintaining a sound that is not only good, but better than top-quality uncoated strings.

These have a nice bright sound and consistant. The lab tests say that they will last roughly 11,000 pick strikes in the same place before the coating goes.

it's my first coated string set and I honestly just bought 3 packs of these to stand out and an excuse to get a black light to have a light show to make playing guitar at night more fun. What to expect is the same if not more grip than what you are used to which DR is known for like anyone who has ever played Dimebag Darrell DR Strings will know what I'm talking about. The sound is similar to Ernie Ball slinky strings for the highs with a bit of D'Addario on the lows, so a very balanced set. These give one of the smoothest vibrattos I've had. I play with scalloped fretboards so I know a good bend when I see it. I was honestly hesitant about buying coated strings the price is almost double in stores as opposed to what we're used to but I won't look back on these. People often complain about them sounding very plastic like but not these.

Other than the coating coming off the strings there's really no cons to these. I mean it's a given it will happen, I mean we're not bassists I know lots of guys who change strings weekly or bi-monthly. But big deal I'd buy them again. I mean how metal is it that I got a pink and a purple string hahah.. how has no one reviewed these?

The strings look really cool (obviously) but the sixth string sounds too dampened. On an undistorted guitar, it sounds flat and is drowned out by all the others. The other strings sound really good and they are very easy to maneuver on but the one issue is too major for me to want to continue using them. I should note that I bought heavy strings that are not available on Musicians Friend, maybe the mediums are better.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I'll get straight to the point, I bought a pack of these and I didn't even finish stringing my guitar because the strings would buzz at the running pegs. I tried moving the end of the string away from the peg but this does not help. This product is nice for young kids who want to learn to play but for people who are playing gigs it is not good to use.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Good Colouring and sound really very good. Colour did fade but I'm a heavy player so was not surprised. Very bright and noticeable, garner good comments from crowds/other musicians out playing around.

Would also like to say that Musician's Friend's international shipping was very quick and supplied everything in great condition. Overall good experience

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I play in a variety band that covers a wide spectrum of Rock and Country. These strings look really cool. I strung them on a Seymour Duncan loaded JT220D LP-style ax thru a vintage brown-face Deluxe. The tone and sustain were surpisingly good...and they felt great on the fingers! The color eventually wears off at the pick-strike area but held up nicely during the entire gig. The sustain lasts well beyond. If you want to add a little pizzaz to your show, give 'em a try.

      Wrong Order

      By Someone with OCD apparently

      About Me Novice

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

I want to buy these because they would go perfectly with a guitar I have in mind, but they're just IN THE WRONG ORDER. It should be E(2) - Red, A - Orange, D - Yellow, G - Green, B - Blue, E(4) - Purple in ascending order of sound/light frequency.

It drives me crazy that they go in the random nonsense order of R,Y,B,O,G,P. I could not buy these unless this was fixed.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

These are fantastic for Rocksmith, they are helping my son, and myself quite frankly, a great deal when playing the game. We seem to get good tone recognition. We are playing on PS4, I hear it is actually better on XBox One. PS4 is kinda glitchy, but I digress.
I thought at first these strings were, well, gimmicky. However, they are good strings, they have held up well and retain tuning reasonably well. We play on them everyday.

          Very good for Rocksmith

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Really like the DR strings. Of course I use them on Rocksmith with the multi color. I typically use Aurora and it seems these pick up a little more accurate on Rocksmith and are a little easier to bend than the Aurora brand. Will probably use these over the Aurora in the future. Just my preference.

Comments about DR Strings Hi-Def NEON Multi-Color Coated Medium Electric Guitar Strings:

Just got my girlfriend's son a new guitar and Rocksmith a month ago and gave him a set of these strings for Xmas. The color spread on these strings is the same as the color spread for the game, and should improve his string recognition dramatically while he continues to learn how to play the game and the guitar. We only got as far as stringing the guitar and tuning it, but they look nice and sounded fine in the few minutes I spent with them. We shall see about how they last and sound over time, but he was excited to get them and couldn't wait to re-string his guitar.

maybe excellent for learning because of the colored strings?
