A vibrant string that glows.
- DR Strings Company Video
NEON is the second in DR's SuperStrings series. Now available for acoustic guitars, NPA-11 NEON Hi-Def Phosphorescent Pink Acoustic Strings Medium-Light are super bright in daylight, and with stage lighting. DR's NEON strings are so bright in appearance "they look like they are on fire." DR's NEON strings shine brightly under stage lights, and are 100% black light active so they glow strongly under UV lighting. And DR's NEON sound as good as they look.
While NEON lasts as long as a coated string should (three to four times as long as uncoated strings) they sound as good, or better than uncoated strings.
- Vibrant tone and color
- Unique color coating keeps strings sounding great longer
Add visual impact to your performance with strings that glow. Order today.

Comments about DR Strings NPA-11 NEON Hi-Def Phosphorescent Pink Acoustic Strings Medium-Light:
I wanted these colored strings for quite a while, so I was really excited when they came in the mail (to be honest, I really woull have purchased them from my local guitar store, but his supplier could not get him the acoustic version)! Once they were on and tuned up, I was totally let down.
The visual statement is there, but the quality is not. They sound 'plastic'...muffled and plunky (I don't think that's a word, but ...). It's slightly better nif I don't use a pick, but I use a pick almost all the time.
Maybe someone else will come out with a 'vanity string', but until then I'd stay away from these.
THese strings pack a visual punch! I have a gloss black guitar with silver/hot pink glitter overlay, and these strings really pull out ths pink glitter!!
They sound a bit better than the nylon strings on the toy guitar I bought my nephew; but for grown up play, they are quite the letdown...so much so that I am taking them off, I gig with this guitar, so it has to sound right, and these don't cut it
