OVERVIEW

Rich tone and great sustain!

Gauge 11-14-18-28-38-50.

Pure Blues electric guitar strings from DR Strings are designed with pure nickel wrap wire, roundwound upon round cores. While this is a slow, expensive method of string making, it does produce a guitar string acclaimed for increased sustain, vintage tone, and great low tones for playing music from rhythm to lead. The extra step of winding pure nickel around a round core give Pure Blues strings a punch that players say they are surprised to get in a vintage electric guitar string. Sounds great on any guitar!

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

I love these strings. They are heavy strings, but are pretty supple. They have a really nice tone from treble to bass. I would only complain about the life. They lose the great tone definitely after a month. But I also play everyday for quite a while.

Good strings. Nothing remarkable about them, but good tone, good feel, long life (if you keep them clean). DR makes a solid product

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

I have been playing guitar for 20 years or so playing many different styles of music from country, ska, rock, reggae, blues, surf, and the list goes on. I started using these strings about 9 years ago on my strat and loved them. I put them on set my tuning and let the guitar sit for a couple of days. When I came back the guitar was in tune and ready to play. I have never had a problem of strings drifting out of tune and never had a problem of strings breaking. I have now switched all of my guitars( 15 electrics, 3 six string acoustics and 3 twelve string acoustics ) over to the DR brand. A couple of my guitars don't get a lot of play but the tone is still good even sitting for 6 months in a case. You can pick it up and it is ready to go. Anyone that asks me about string I tell them to check these out just like the girl at music store told me 9 years ago.

The DR PURE BLUES strings makes my guitar wonderfully addictive.

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

There are nothing wrong with these strings.
On my Fender Stratocaster, I would change my standard tuning often from an E to an E-flat or to a D, without having to readjust the guitar neck by purchasing DR PURE BLUES 10's, 11's, or 12's at Musician's Friend. Then I would purchase individual strings, so that I could customise my own set for my playing style. For an explample on an E-flat standard tuning:
(.11), (.13), (.17), (.28),(.38),(.52). I've just change only the 2nd, 3rd, and beef up the 6th string and still have the DR PURE BLUES pure nickel round core from the same manufacture.
The remaing three strings from the set of 11's, will be used as spare for the other sets.
Hey I'm madly in love with DR PURE BLUES guitar strings. I even like using the 9's as well for my other guitars.
          They are an ideal quality.
          Great value and always afordable.

Pure nickel construction with a round core. Produces a Meaty tone that beats more expensive strings. Great value for superb performance! Wouldn't use anything else on my Les Paul!

          VINTAGE, BABY!

          By

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

Recently (about 2-3 months ago) I was reading bout 'pure nickel' strings and was very interested (considering I'm old school and love, not only hard rock (Guns n' Roses), but I love blues (Stevie Ray Vaughan style)). The guy at the shop suggested DR pure blues. I've been playing guitar for over 8 years, and it's not a 'hobby' for me, it's my LIFE. Let me tell you, these string are BEAUTIFUL! Over the years I've tried all sort of string, D'addario's (obviously), gibson, ernie ball, GHS boomers, you name it, and NONE compare to these. I perfer Cleartone's on my jackson (because of the very clean, high-pitch sound I got from the 9-42 gauge), but for my old school Washburn, nothing will touch them except DR pure blues. I actually wanted the extra heavy guage (12- 56 I think) but they didn't have them so I went with the 11's, with no disappointment. I plan on getting 12's next time, if they have them, but either way, I'm getting DR pure blues because I love these string. And I haven't changed them yet and they still sound great! and I play every day, and I rock long and hard, but these string deff endure the pain and keep rockin! I LOVE 'EM!

          Phenomenal

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

I was a GHS Boomer user for about two years and had these recommended to me by my local shop. Let me tell you. There is so much more tone in these strings than the GHS'. I have tried most of the big players...Ernie Ball, GHS, Gibson, and D'Addario, and found all of them to be rather lacking. For those D'Addario users, I can only say one thing. These strings have a fatter tone and it lasts a heck of a lot longer. Well worth it...for all styles of music

          Snappy!

Comments about DR Strings PHR11 Pure Blues Nickel Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

I've heard many reviews and claims on these strings that they're very mellow for blues/jazz styles. After I purchased a couple packs I was hesitant because I play some pretty heavy rock and I like a sharp attack to my strings. I generally use D'Addario (still do) but I decided to try a set of these 11-50s on my Telecaster and the first thing I noticed right off is the snappy tone. It's very bright, has a lot of attack, and yes I must say it again...it has lots of "SNAP". Absolutely great on distortion and cleans are more pronounced. I have not tried these on any other guitar but I will say on a Telecaster it works pretty good. Probably not good enough to make me give up my D'addarios (price vs quality is bar none) but these DRs make a very nice alternative. Try out the Tite-Fits if you get a chance, too. They were my main string until I switched to D'Adds.
