These strings were supposed to be louder than the cheaper brands. They are not so you can notice.

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Bass Strings:

I use them on a Washburn AB 40 fretless acoustic/electric bass (the one with slats instead of a soundhole). These strings have a nice full twangy sound that counteracts the somewhat muted tone I get with nonbronze strings. The last set I bought lasted a long time. They're pricey, but the tone and durability I get with them make it worth it.

Comments about DR Strings Rare Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Bass Strings:

If your acoustic bass came with coated strings give these a try and really hear your bass! Great depth of tone, lots of "snap" and a great mid-range make for a very pleasant acoustic tone. The tension isn't stiff, great if you like to bend strings as well as for good acoustic tone allowing the top to vibrate. They kept their tone for a long time even after the color began to turn. Lots of length on these, could easily fit a 35in scale. So far my favorite acoustic bass string.
