DR Strings

Add brightness to your tone with Sunbeams.

Gauges 10-14-22-30-38-48.

Sunbeam Phosphor Bronze Strings feature round core construction for remarkable sustain. The tone does not decay as it does with other phosphor bronze strings that seem to sustain in a straight line until the sound falls off. Sunbeam acoustics are musically bright, rich sounding, and very flexible.

Comments about DR Strings Sunbeam Phosphor Bronze Lite Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I never use DR Strings, but a customer brought these to install on his Martin Custom Dreadnought. I noticed that the string windings slid up and down the inner core. Strange. Tuned to pitch, the bass E and A were dead as a hammer. After much hand wringing, we decided the strings were bad. How you install these strings matter. We finally found the instructions printed, get this, on the inside of the box. Too late, this set is ruined. I use both Martin string install style and Taylor string install style. You luthier types will know what I'm talking about. Today we used the Taylor Factory Friday Method, install all strings in the bridge pin holes, then cut to length, install in tuning machines and tune to pitch. Well these strings were dead, two of them. New strings? Give me a break. The windings would slide up and down the core, no joke. Pass. I could never recommend these strings. Grab anything else, Elixirs, D'Addarios, Martin, Ernie Ball Earthwoods, Even musician friend cheapos will beat a DR string and I dislike MF cheapos. My two cents. Felt sorry for the customer. Hope MF gives him his money back, plus shipping.... really! These strings should have a warning pasted on the outside of the box, to read the instructions which are just pictures, printed on the inside of the box. Murphy's Law DR, Murphy's Law! I like leaving only positive reviews, but occasionally a product elicits this type of scathing review. Come on DR! U can do better!

Comments about DR Strings Sunbeam Phosphor Bronze Lite Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I bought these to try and get more flexible strings for my Taylor 814ce. Low E, A, & D strings hardly had any tone what-so-ever. Just a muffled thump sound when picked. I put Elixar strings back on and it sounds fine (just not as easy to bend as I prefer). I have never had a new string sound so dead like this before in my 40 years of playing.
