I've tried just about every brand / type that you can think of, and these are simply the best. Good tone, soft feel, long life. I think the previous reveiwer just likes the bright sound of stainless. The tone of nickle mellows over time no matter what brand you're using.

I have used all the strings and I like the DR Highbeams and I wanted to try the nickel's with the round core so I bought a set of these to test on one of my Carvin basses and they sounded good and had a good feel but they went completely dead on me after just a couple of weeks and only about 6 or 7 hours of playing time. My bass suddenly sounded terrible and I couldn't get any tone I wanted or usually have. It was nothing with my bass or amp. I changed the strings back to my Ernie Ball's and it was fine. Also, I recently started using Dunlop bass strings and they are amazing. I might have a new favorite. Try 'em!
