Long-lasting strings with warm, clear tone and a smooth, tactile feel.

A unique combination of crisp highs, aggressive mids, and a focused low end gives Dunlop electric guitar strings a voice all their own. The Dunlop recipe for string-to-string balance and responsiveness produces string sets that are perfect for dynamic lead work, while notes in a chord ring out clearly whether clean or heavily distorted. This powerful voice is delivered in a low-tension string with a smooth tactile feel that breaks in fast and lasts a long time.

The best so far

Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings - Extra Heavy:

I recently tuned down both my guitars to C#-standard, having played in Eb-standard for many years. I used Ernie Ball 10-52's in the Eb-tuning, which worked fine.
I switched to Ernie Ball 11-54's for my new tuning. Problem was, there wasn't enough tension, so it sounded sloppy, lots of rattling, and during fast alternate picking it felt as if the strings weren't returning to their position, if that makes any sense.
So I tried again, looked for a heavier gauge, and these Dunlop 13-56's seemed like they might work. And work, they do. String tension is about the same as it was with my Eb-tuning, maybe even a little more tension. They sound great too.
Finally, strings with a decent tension on lower tunings.
Just installed them a day ago, so I can't really comment yet on how long they last, but they seem good so far.
Slightly cheaper than Ernie Ball strings (also great strings), yet they come in a gauge that I was unable to find with Ernie Ball (unless I would've gotten a 7-strings, and toss the high E string).

Thunder In A String

By The Original Long-Haired Freak

from The Great State of Denial

Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings - Extra Heavy:

These strings are on my Strat, SG, and Goth Explorer, and I can't be any happier with them. They deliver thunderous tone when dropped to Drop B, Baritone, even Drop A. Tuned up to E or Eb, they are clear and defined. Simply put, the best out there.
