Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings Light 6-Pack:
I like how you can have a good set of Strings to count on for your show or to just jam with..
Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings Light 6-Pack:
I love everything about these strings from the quality, to the durability, and the overall value of them. The best part about them however is the fact that they no longer get in the way or hinder my playing in any way. I highly recommend Dunlop strings! They rock!
The strings are in a sealed plastic bag so that it will retains the freshness. I always keep a spare pack with me wherever I go so the packaging is pretty durable and very easy to open.
The amount of string tension is just right for bending notes and it doesn't flop around as much when I hit chords really hard. They also feel pretty good when I slide from note to note seemlessly even when the strings get pretty old. The tone is also rock solid and isn't as too bright as some strings can be and the lows are also much clearer. The time for strings to break in is significantly shorter also which makes string changing a bit more easier and they also stay in tune extremely well if you have your guitar set up right.
I typically change my strings every 3 weeks but they last a pretty long time. The corrosion isn't much of an issue and wear out gracefully. The best part is that it retains its tone much better than other strings; it doesn't sound like complete garbage. As for durability I can say that I have never ever broken a Dunlop string as of this writing and I've been using them for almost a year.
Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings Light 6-Pack:
I've been playing rock/metal guitar for over 20 years. I've tried all kinds of strings from all different companies. I decided to give the Dunlop strings a whirl when I ran out of my Ernie Balls (which I still consider the best in the world). They claim to have a low tension, but I did have to re-level my floyd because they have a bit more tension than ernie balls.. just a tad. It seems like they are hex core like ernie balls as well but I can't be certain about that. They do seem like they are a bit "brighter" than ernie ball strings, but not much. All and all they seem pretty similar other than cost. You can still get ernie balls for significantly cheaper if you buy in bulk. As far a durability, its too soon to tell. I NEVER break strings. I bet I've not broken a string in over 10 years and I DONT change them often. If these break, I will update my review.SUMMARY:These are great strings but if you want a tad lower tension AND a lower cost go with Ernie Ball. For the record: I dislike GHS strings as well as DAdarrio (drop the color balls already) if that helps.
