I started trying out & using nylon picks w/ grippers around 1989 - I was helping out another guitar player / friend & his band, & he used Dunlop 1.0 mm nylon picks (which I would "lift", then take home to try out on acoustics, as well as electrics). I liked them right away, except that the 1.0 mm was a little too thick. I remembered an interview that featured Jimmy Page saying he had used .88 mm Herco picks. That's how my long standing affair w/ Dunlop .88 mm nylons began.
Later on in the 90's, I discovered Le Pik's arsenal of nylons - the design is offset, but there in lies what made them different, as well as ergonomical (I think that was their intent). I used those for 10 years or so, & then I had to make another switch when I found out Le Pik was going under. Around then was when I found Snarling Dog's Brain Picks - a dozen picks comes in a tin "stash box", one of which I keep on me at all times. They're alright nylon picks, but they wear & eventually, wear out.
Today, I'm back using Dunlop .88 mm picks, only now I'm strumming away using their MAX Grip picks, which are the bomb. They hardly wear, the nylon feels a little denser & the grip area is innovative in the world of nylon guitar picks. The search is over...until (!)

The .73 and 1.14 picks are almost identical color, although the chart does NOT show them that way! Big difference as I use one for accoustic and the thicker pick for electric and the only way to tell which is which is to pick one up and feel the thickness or quickly bend it and you can tell. BAD idea to make the thickest pick and one of the thinnest picks the same color!!!! Otherwise, great picks. REALLY surprised they didn't think through this.

Comments about Dunlop Nylon Max Grip Guitar Picks - 12-Pack:

I tend to use different picks from time to time but always like having the max grip pick around. If I start getting the dropsies, I turn to them as they are easy to hold onto and give a unique attack. Try them, you'll like 'em as a variation to the usual types. Inexpensive too.

I got the 1.5 to try with my bass, I've been a fan of the big stubby, and the gator grips, and these are so much better then them, they don't slip, they are sturdy when hitting my bass strings, I plan on trying a smaller type for my guitar to see how they compare to the jazz iii xl

For me, these picks stay put and last. It's not a super pick and it's not going to change the way you play but it might not slip in your fingers as much. Probably won't break while playing. What can I say...it's a pick.

These feel like you're holding a piece of extremely rough sand paper. Very uncomfortable in your hand. They do stay put but don't feel good at all. Also, small changes that players like to make, such as when they re-position the pick to get some pinched harmonics, are extremely difficult to do. I threw mine away. Going to stick to Cool "CoolCell" Picks - far superior to these. Save your money.

I've been trying different picks lately and decided to try these. I was disappointed at seeing the plastic flash all around the edges of these picks. It's small but it's there. These size and shape of these picks could be better to. However they do work really well. They take some getting use to and they get better after you use one for a couple days. I like the grip the best. The grip is the best feature of these picks. I recommend these picks only if you want to try something different for awhile.
