A college buddy turned me on to these in the early '70s, and I've never used anything else in the last 40 years. In fact, not only do I have one in every case - including one of the extremely rare gold ones from the late-70's that's a perfect compliment to my wife's Ovation Elite (and I understand now sell for several hundred dollars, if you can find one) and a Gibson-branded model from 1975 - I keep a spare in my jacket pocket just in case I need to bail someone out when their Kyser explodes; heck, I even cut one down with a Dremel to use as a banjo capo - looks/feels/sounds better than anything else I've tried, and it never fails to draw attention from fellow players asking where I got it (are you listening, Dunlop?). As long as the strap is properly adjusted, there haven't been any tuning problems with my 6-string guitars; 12-strings are notorious in the lower strings even when played open, so I really don't consider this too much of a drawback. Lightweight, cheap, durable - I still have all my originals from college, and they show no signs of quitting...what more could you ask of any product?

My major gripe: the strap length must be constantly adjusted when placing the capo on different frets, which can become tedious and aggravating. Although the adjustable strap length is a nice feature, the tension is not distributed evenly through the capo, which can cause buzzing or muting of the strings, particularly the B and high E strings. Best used in a jam situation, or for quick access in your pocket or guitar case.

This is the same capo I used in the 70's. The Dunlop capo works as well as any.

If you want to play in tune, don't use this capo

          By 4a7W0He1e

          from New Jersey

Comments about Dunlop Pro Curved Guitar Capo:

This thing frustrates me so much. Because you need to tighten and secure the strap that it has, the strings get moved every time you're trying to put it on, leaving it out of tune. When I don't have my spring capo and I try to use this one, I just end up angry. Buy the spring one.

I've tried every capo there is (i think) haha, but these are the ones I always come back to, you dont have to (ever) take it off,the guitar will still fit in the case, they last forever, the price is right (buy two)and most important they just work

          Had mine forever

          By Keith-r3x8O

          from Texas

Comments about Dunlop Pro Curved Guitar Capo:

Honestly, this thing works great. I've had this longer than I can remember, and it does the job on both acoustic and electric. On electric, you can angle or tip to easily adjust some intonation quirks. I'm guessing I got this over 20 years ago, and it's still the only capo I own. Jim Dunlop makes great products.

Good capo if your tight on money.

          By Ziggy Stardust2

          from Brewerton, NY

Comments about Dunlop Pro Curved Guitar Capo:

This capo is really good! I have owned others that have dented or scratched my guitar neck. Unlike the comment below it DOES stay in tune; you just have to adjust the capo so it isn't too tight. Other spring action capos(Keyser) have that very problem. They don't keep your guitar in tune because the spring is too powerful and you can not adjust it. But overall this capo is good for the money; it doesn't feel as is it will last forever but I've had it 2 years now id it has never let me down!(Although I would rather have a different one if I had the money.)
