Soulful, rich, articulate, and smooth sound from guitar strings designed to emulate fat Texas tone.

Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top is known for big fat Texas tone that has been described as "hot, blue, and righteous." Dunlop developed Reverend Willy's strings in collaboration with Billy himself, aiming to make replacement guitar strings that offer a real punch and while remaining articulate and clear when guitarists perform his legendary leads and pinch harmonics.

Light string gauges: 8-10-12-20-30-40

Comments about Dunlop Reverend Willy's Electric Guitar String Set - Light:

Took a chance on a lower gauge strings and was not disappointed. Swapped out the stock strings on a musicman axis and setup the guitar for the new string size. light and smooth yet keep the tone I was looking for. I just ordered six more sets.....I find myself playing more and getting the sounds ive been wanting, maybe because I have small hands. for me they work.

Love these strings. Great for my aging fingers. A bit on the expensive side, but well worth it so far.

            TV Dinner

Comments about Dunlop Reverend Willy's Electric Guitar String Set - Light:

So I put in a TV dinner asked the wife "could you gimme all your lovin and bring me a beer". Meanwhile, I changed my guitar strings to the Wllly 8's. My guitar stated , "you got me under pressure". But I countered with, "yes, but now you play like buttery Billy Gibbons". These strings are awesome.

Comments about Dunlop Reverend Willy's Electric Guitar String Set - Light:

I'm on my second set. I did find the .007s too light, but that may be from coming off .010s.
At any rate.. the first set lasted until string change time, which was actually quite long.. about three months.
I bend a lot all over the place, never lost a string.
your guitar will do better with these IF you get the tuning stable first, and stretching the strings, mounting them.. all of that matters a tick more with the lighter guages.

Tonally I am happy.. readjustment to the pedals and amps did not cause conflict with my .009 or .010 sets guitars and ACDC to ZZ I'm quite satisfied.

I like them quite a bit.. and though I'm also an Everly Strings fan, I'm sure I'll be having the argument and enjoying both brands for a long long time.

It behooves me to say. fatter strings may have more tone.. or not! not every string is for everyone. these are worth a shot anyday!
