Tortex...some of the best picks out there
I started playing guitar on Tortex's, and I'm going to use them for a very long time. Great all-around guitar picks. Nothing fancy, but they do their job well.

I started playing guitar on Tortex's, and I'm going to use them for a very long time. Great all-around guitar picks. Nothing fancy, but they do their job well.
Great picks. The grip surface is soft and smooth and actually works pretty well. They slip if you start playing super heavy with them, but that's not what they're designed for. The yellow (.73) is one of my go-to picks for guitar. I tend to stay away from anything thicker than that because the squared edges make a clicking sound that I don't like. A lot of people don't have a problem with it, but I just prefer to have smooth, round tone without any extra string noise.
Excellent build quality. They're flexible and resilient, and they hardly wear at all. I've had the same yellow Tortex for 2 or so years now and it's worn less than half a millimeter. I don't like how the logo wears off very quickly, but it's not a big deal. Broken-in Tortex's look cool. I just wish they could stamp the logo into the pick rather than on the surface, like with the Gator Grips and Delrin 500's.
The price is a pretty good price for a dozen of these well-made picks. And a dozen will last you a really long time.

These are good picks compared to other brands, but possibly the worst dunlop makes.I use .5s and they wear down from trem picking and get gouges from pickslides.Worst of all, I seem to drop them often, especially if I'm playing hard or my hands are a bit sweaty. They're out to get you. They'll jump right out of your hand if they know people are watching. You've got the right brand, but not the right picks. Go with a nylon pick, perhaps a jazz III, at least get the ones with the gator on them.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Standard Guitar Picks:
I love these picks. I have been using them for years. I use the .50mm red thin ones. It's very difficult to find a thin pick that doesn't crack, break, or just plain melt from use. I have used the Nylon picks, and while they are durable, they aren't rigid enough. They don't slap back fast enough after picking a string and don't make a good scrape sound on the strings like these do.
These picks meet all of my requirements and while I do wear them down after a night's playing, they produce the exact sound I'm looking for. No flexible thin pick will last forever, but these are the most durable I have found.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Standard Guitar Picks:
Choosing the right pick is an ongoing process; I've mostly settled for the blue tortex, because it meets my needs: strumming, picking, and playing leads; it's pliable enough for strumming and it's thick enough for picking and lead playing. I have used pick in the past I like better, but their availability was poor.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Standard Guitar Picks:
I was an early adopter of Tortex picks, buying one as soon as they came on the market. I've used nothing else ever since. Occasionally I'll be somewhere playing someone else's guitar or mandolin using their pick and I just can't get the sound I want without one. In those situations, after a couple of licks I always dig into my wallet where I carry a couple of Tortex and use that instead. I use the blue 1.0 on my Martin HD-28V and my Gibson F-5G mandolin and it gets the best possible sound out of these fine instruments. I own a couple of ancient tortise shell picks and these are the closest in tone to them I've ever found. Playing music is all about the sound and tone and these picks do the job.

This is the best pick to use overall because of it's general use. it suits all styles and all venues. They have great natural grip and don't wear down too soon. They are quality yet cheap enough to throw out to the fans.
