Comments about Dunlop Ultex Jazz III Guitar Pick 6-Pack:
So I read some good things about the yellow Ultex Jazz IIIs and have had great experience with Dunlop Big Stubby and Primetomes picks (the small, pointed 5mm ones) and thought "why not?"
I'll tell you why not: they make a scratchy sound against round-wound strings that wouldn't go away even with grinding and polishing a remedial bevel onto these babies. The Petrucci version will probably be an entirely different story, but these were just brutal.
Pity, too, because they felt so good in hand. Before hitting the first string, the pick seemed to ask "Are you ready to rock?" and after it, its answer was "well guess again!" Tried 'fixing' them, but my time would've been better spent punching sandpaper and soaking my hands in Tabasco sauce.
Hoping the thinner Ultex Jazz pics and Petrucci Ultex Jazz pics are another story. In the meantime, I'll just cry to my Stubbies and Primetones and they'll make beautiful tones to sooth me.
Comments about Dunlop Ultex Jazz III Guitar Pick 6-Pack:
This pick delivers the best tone possible from a mandolin. The raised lettering on the pick prvides the surest grip I've experienced, and I've used the carbon fiber Maxi-grip picks! The slight bevel on the tip ensures lightning fast releas while delivering maximum tone, the pick darts from one note to the next with driving clarity and control. If you haven't tried these picks yet, do yourself a favor, buy a pack today!
Comments about Dunlop Ultex Jazz III Guitar Pick 6-Pack:
I use it on acoustic for a slightly brighter tone, and use the grip jazz iii version for more mellow tone and for electric (only due to better grip).
Great pick, good feel and tone. For acoustic work provides a nice brighter picking tone.
Looks and feels durable
Comments about Dunlop Ultex Jazz III Guitar Pick 6-Pack:
Awesome pick. It's a lot thicker than the standered red nylon jazz 3 and it has a curve to the flat face. The attack with this pick is out standing and harmonics sing. It feels and plays a little diffrent than the nylon but this pick might be my new favorite. I love the ultex material.
Comments about Dunlop Ultex Jazz III Guitar Pick 6-Pack:
If you drop this you will end up looking like someone that lost a contact because it seems to blend in with every non white color out there lol...
The text on these picks is lifted just enough to provide a lil grip and they seem to be holding up better than the standard ultex sharps I have. What more can you ask for in a pick?
