The DW 3000 Two-legged hi hat stand is a great buy for the money. It is NOT the best stand on the market. I am not happy that my hi hat cymbals wobble at times. However, as I am performing, it becomes less of a distraction. For the price, you can't beat it! It is light-weight by comparison to my old PEARL Eliminator 2-legged stand. I gave it 4-stars because the rod is not as stable as I would like, but can tolerate it for the price and convenience of set up and breakdown!

It is MUCH lighter. I like the locking hi hat clutch! For the first time in my life, I did not have to hacksaw the hi hat rod! It comes with a shorter rod. I play hybrid (right-hand set up, with ride cymbal on left side.). It allows me to clear the hi hat rod.

It looks solid. The chrome plating is nice. I have always been a PEARL guy. I recently switched to DW 3000 hardware to lighten my bag. I play for a busy corporate band in ATL and I have found hardware that is lighter, yet can hold up to my playing.

If you don't want to pay for 9000 DW hardware, then the 3000 series is the next best thing. I do not see too much difference between 3000 and 5000 except for the price increase. Not good enough to drop the extra money. Thanks DW for a great series of hardware for the working drummer!

I thought that since it was DW it should be good and at a great price, I was sold. However, this lemon has been nothing but trouble. Very unresponsive and my lifts are a half measure off with this thing. There were points when I wanted to body slam this high-hat stand. It might be good for a novice or someone who plays the high-hat open, but for precision, save your money and get something that actually functions properly.

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

wanted to move to a 2-leg after years of playing 3 leg/swivel base....this seemed to be the best economical, well made stand but when keeping time with the left foot, it jumped around etc.etc.

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

Yes I did give this product 5 stars but my only complaint is the lack of information available on the net. All guides are the 5000 series and I could not get an answer from anyone about the spring tension adjustment. In fact I talked to DW support and they did not even know what I was talking about. So if you purchase simply loosen set screw on spring tension adjustment and lift to top to fully tighten spring then tighten the set screw. Fairley simple but I was amazed that DW could not know anything about this adjustment for the 3000 series. Anyway enough of all the negative stuff. It is a good solid 2 leg HH stand and would recommend buying.

Comments about DW 3000 Series 2-Leg Hi-Hat Stand:

I received the item UPS ground. I noticed right away that the parcel was partially opened as the driver set it by my door. The packaging tape seal was broken on both sides. I opened the item to find that item item itself seem to have protruded through its own packaging somehow. As if it got slightly crushed somehow, somewhere in its past. Further opening of the item revealed a very nice new, shiny DW 3500. Assembly involves threading the hi hat rod into the middle of the stand. Which btw, is where you have your lift adjustments. Housed right outside the rod connection. Then the upper/seat portion slides into the lower half of the stand. After full assembly, the rod remains loose or wobbly with or without the bottom hat cymbal in place. The Cymbal itself sits loosely around the plastic seat, also inadequate. After I put together the top Hi Hat cymbal, I pulled up on the rod with my foot off the pedal and the hat drops. I have a Sabian AAX Stage hat. The spring is very weak and is was not prepared for my average, pro quality Stage Hats. Overall, I do not see the DW 3500 hi hat stand as being any better than a Pro grade level PDP Hi Hat stand.

        Returned.

It has been a while since I have played drums and this is my first 2 legger, but I just can't seem to get this thing stable. It is playable and I am just jamming right now so it's not a big deal. It could be something that I can fix, haven't spent much time adjustig it. However, everything I have done has not made it better. It's almost like the legs don't reach down far enough. Still useable but I would recommend a 3 leg or maybe at least the 5000 series.
