Bought this from Musician Friends after much research as a back up stand for easy transport due to it's compact size, but it's Awesome and won't break your wallet. Well built, metal components and beautiful craftsmanship! It's a MINI-TANK beauty due to it's strong, solid and sturdy construction. I took it last month for worship services at church! It fit great in the tight drum booth, adjusted easily and was ROCK Solid Stable throughout! If you are looking for a high quality, compact and superb snare stand built to last, look no further. You won't be disappointed because This is the one!!! Just pick it up and you can feel the quality. I Love my Tama Roadpro stand with my Superstar kit, but also Love this DW for practice and rudiments drills at home! You will Love this stand!!!

I ordered a 3300 snare stand trying to save a bit of money when I purchased a 5-piece DW Performance Series shell pack, including four 5700 cymbal stands and a 5500TD hi-hat stand. This is a fantastic set both looks and sound-wise, and a joy to play.

But, this snare stand is my only complaint.

The description here reads "Fine tooth tilter allows precise and dependable adjustment". This is incorrect. Mine has the "toothless tilter" adjuster, like the cymbal stands.

At first, I thought "Great!" when I saw this. Problem is, there is no locking screw like the cymbal stands after you tighten the adjustment handle. As a result, I've had the snare drum tilter come loose during performances several times, with the snare almost landing in my lap.

I have the tilter handle set very tight, so much so that I'm afraid to tighten it any more for fear that the black plastic adjusting handle will break off.

Besides this major problem, the stand itself is very sturdy. I just can't figure out why there is no locking screw for the tilter for the life of me. It's hard to believe that no one else is experiencing this problem.

The Performance Series snare I have is a 6.5" deep, made of 8-ply hard rock maple, and it's not light. Nevertheless, I've always been told that all DW drum parts are interchangeable, so this stand should work fine with this snare.

I'll likely give DW a call to ask about it. If they can't give me a solution, I guess my only other option will be to take this stand to a machine shop and have them install some sort of locking screw for me. That might get expensive for a stand in this price range, ugh.

Comments about DW 3000 Series Snare Drum Stand:

This snare stand is all you will ever need. The flashy, expensive 9000 series may be tempting but this is just as good for a fraction of the price. The stand hardly moves and I hit quite hard. You won't regret this purchase!
The metal, locks, and everything are incredible.. Very sturdy.
DW has great, good quality products and this is no exception.
Great stand for its value!! the 9000 IS NOT NECESSARY!

Just buy it. You won't regret it. haha.
Very easy to use stand. Maybe a swivel, instead of a gear might make it a little more versatile, but it's A-grade stand. The memory lock looks really nice, compare to most.
Good quality build. No issues with anything. Nice build. Professional quality.
This price for a stand like this? Totally worth it. I'm gonna buy a 2nd one for my high tom, and possibly a 3rd for my other snare. Great price for beginners, but superior build for Professionals.

Comments about DW 3000 Series Snare Drum Stand:

I bought this stand to go with a PDP Concept four piece kit I recently purchased for gigging with a Christian Jazz trio. I have a mix of DW 9000 and 5000 series snare stands with a larger DW kit, but didn't want to use them for gigging due to the weight of those pieces. I got the 3000 based on reviews at Musician's Friend and DW's reputation for quality. This stand is perfect for it's intended use. It is rock solid, exemplifies DW's typical attention to detail and weighs a bunch less than the 9000 series. It is a virtual copy of the 5000 stand, just lighter and a bit smaller. Both factors I was looking for. All in all a superb product, well worth the money and definitely a best buy.

Unless you play like a gorilla or have an extremely heavy snare, can't imagine why this stand would not suffice for any gigging situation. Small foot print, very adjustable, hey, it holds your snare securely, what else do you need really.
