First off, the pedal is very well priced. I mean, DW quality for $**. Don't get me wrong, the DW 5000 and 9000 pedals are tons better, but for $**, it is well worth it. You don't want to cough up a lot of cash or you don't have a lot of cash to begin w/, get a DW 4000 pedal. I went from a no name, to this, and I am glad I bought this pedal. I'm saving up for an Axis pedal, but that is going to be awhile. So, if you don't have a lot of cash, and you want DW quality, go w/ this pedal, it pretty good.

i just got back in to playing drums. i bought these pedals figuring ok cheap way to get back in the swing of things. very hard to play. no ajustability. i figuerd that i could just take them apart and reset things, nope, one pedal the set screw striped out so it wont come apart. they are abot .05 to 1" away from the head for comfortable playing. i should have spent the extra $ or what ever it was for something better. simple rock beats are no problem with these but trying to do paradiddles with double bass or more complicated stuff, yes it can be done but it takes so much effert and concentration. i was GC and was blasting wil pearl demon drive but these pedals i can go fast like i was with pearl, but they dont hit the head. spend the extra money on a pedal that has adjustability. ive played on iron cobra jr, iron cobra power glide, flying dragon, and axis a long boards. these pedals do not even compare to iron cobra jr. they are built very well, thats the only good thing i can say. if you do gets these, get the sonic hammers from axis, i think that is the only way to make them perfom good.

I changed my mind .The pedal just needed some adjustments . I have used it for over two years now ,I love it . I am also going to buy the double bass pedal. Great speed and value.Don't waste your money on a prettier one. As good as Iron cobra. I should know , I own one too.

Solid, but no great

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

The DW 4000 is a good, trustworthy pedal, but not great. My most particular criticism is that it is sluggish when using quick doubles and triplets. I think that Iron Cobras are much faster in this regard. But, the DW 4000 is dependable and sturdy. In two plus years I've never had any mechanical problems with it.

I've had this pedal for a couple of months now and it works great. It's easy to adjust and has a nice feel. It's a lot better than the last pedal I had which was a "pulse" pedal that came with my kit.

I just got this pedal and am quite happy with it. It's not as good as other pedals I've played, but it is still a great pedal. You would have a really hard time trying to find anything better in this price range.

Decent features, great quality at a good price.

Great for a good start on drums. Smooth, fast and great angles of adjustment based on your needs.

Great pedal for the price

By Boston Tom

from Massachusetts

This is a precision instrument. Very fast. You must spend time tuning it to meet your feel for the pedal. I wish it had thumb screw adjustments as allen wrenches and drum keys are not very good useful you need to make a fast change to the pedal. But its better than anything I have ever used. It ads speed and precision to your playing. And you cant beat the price.

I have discovered this pedal, and it is as good as the 7000 or 9000. This is quick and easy to install.
