I have been looking for a double kick pedal for a long time. I owned iron cobras (which were great, but I sold them with an old kit), I tried out the speed cobras (which didn't feel that great for me), I also tried out a bunch of pedals at the music store, and this pedal felt great! I walked in the store expecting to buy the speed cobras or iron cobras, but this pedal was just awesome when I tried it out. I suggest you try out a range of pedals when you want to buy your next double kicks.
This pedal is great. I could think of a few other things that can make the design better (convertable to long-board, adjustable cams, direct drive option), but other then that, it feels awesome.
Built like a tank. I doublt I will see this pedal breaking in my lifetime.
I gave it a 7 because it's the most expensive pedal in its class. In canada, this pedal is more expensive then the Tama Iron/Speed Cobra, Pearl Eliminator, and other pedals it competes with. For some reason, you pay a premium to own this pedal.

I play DW's and ""assumed"" the pedals would be as good as the drums, quality wise. 1st night the screws fell out, Tightened down really good and it happened again and again to where you only have one pedal to use. The batter keeps slipping forward to where the is minimal clearance between the head and batter. Adjust again, and again. These are as high maintainenec as my old girlfriend.Buy the Tama Iron Cobra and be done with the hassel.

Comments about DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal:

I've owned this pedal since March 2008, and love it. Admittedly, it took a while to "break in," but it gets easier each day. The quality is great, and, for most drummers, the standard factory settings should be fine. The pedal surfaces are a little slippery for continuous fast licks, but installation of the (included) toe stops will remedy this. This pedal is easy to install and the velcro strips will not let this pedal slide whatsoever. During first setup, make sure that all of the factory bolts are tight, and you should have no problem with this pedal for years to come. To complete the setup, add a DW 5500TD Delta II Hi-Hat Cymbal Stand, and you're all set.

Comments about DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal:

I got this pedal for my birthday last september. I couldn't be happier! Though the price is hefty, this pedal is every bit worth it! this is the MOST adjustable, durable, pedal on the market today. honestly, after playing the 5000, 7000, and 9000, the 5000 is the way to go. the 9000 is a glorified version of this smooth, quiet machine. if your willing to spend the extra buck, BUY THIS PEDAL NOW!!!

Comments about DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal:

I bought the 5000 about half a year ago. I was so hooked on geting a double bass drum pedal, I didn't even bother to try one out before I bought it. Let's just say I got lucky; this is an extremely solid pedal. Maybe a little over priced, but its all-American DW so you know its great quality. Its got tons of adjustments, a velcrow-like grip on the bottom of the pedals to prevent slippage on carpets, and the double-sided mallets (black rubber is rock and white felt is jazz). Before you buy any double pedal though, just make sure you actually like having two pedals, because what I have found is that there are some drawbacks.

I've tried nearly every pedal out there, this one is my favorite out of all of them. Solid construction, excellent adjustablity, and all around design prove that dw knows what they are doing.

Incredible

By verdesvida

Comments about DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal:

In every single aspect, the DW 5002 is incredible. When you first take it out of the case, you can immediately take note of the quality and craftmanship. When you put it together you begin to notice that you don't have to have an impact wrench just to fasten the lugs enough to where the pedal won't come undone. Now the important part. There is a reason the 5002 is the industry standard and that is because of the feel of this pedal. Perfect response, and the footboard is heavy enough so that you get no blowback and swinging chain drives (with all that extra noise). It's just a smooth gliding pedal.

Comments about DW 5002TD3 Turbo Chain-Drive Double Pedal:

I purchased this pedal sometime last year, around now I think. It is capable of doing anything I want it to do, if I want to play punk stuff, it works perfect, hardcore, it works perfect. This is by far the best pedal I have ever owned. It's extremely fast and very quiet. I don't think that I'll ever buy a different model, unless it's a higher quality DW pedal. This pedal is one of the best ones out there today. Don't make a mistake by getting something less than this. It's so worth the price. BUY ONE TODAY.
