The DW 7002 Double Bass pedal is amazing! I got it for my sixteenth birthday, and it's the best pedal I've ever used. Previously, I had whatever pearl pedal came with my Forum five-piece set, but I have also tried many others on various sets to find a pedal that worked. I settled on this one for the price and bought it. It is very smooth and adjustable, and it also cleans well for those of you who, like me, don't like when your pedal gets gunk on it. The only thing is that the slave pedal does not have a plate whereas the other does. This makes the slave pedal slightly "flimsier" but I've never had a problem with it. The only other thing is that at first the screw things that hold the pedals together pop out, but if you tighten them a few times they will stick. That being the case I wouldn't take it on a tour until you'd broken it in but for home play it rocks. I recommend this pedal very highly and would buy it again!

The features, quality, value, and initial experience of playing the pedal were great, that's why I bought it. (this was 3 years ago, so my pedal is actually the previous version, mostly the same except for the single-sided left side bracket) After a while, the feel started to irritate me- the stock beater heads are plenty heavy which was great at first but come back too far even on the pedals strongest spring setting. Even after replacing the beaters with lighter Iron Cobras, the pedal just felt, well, slow. Also, during the first gig, the main beater flew out because the keynut that held it in loosened after 5 minutes of playing. Future gigs saw me tightening it to within an inch of its life. The keynut that held the driveline to the main beater frame was next: It was lost during a gig and never found.Basically, make sure you dig the feel, and try not to play it fast and hard. It doesn't get along with psychobilly, and now I'm dreaming of an Iron Cobra.

A lot of people might just give something all tens because they think it's pretty good, but I can honestly say, that this DESERVES straight 10's. The quality is amazing, this thing is solid. Very smooth and fast, and adjustable enough to fit ANYONE's playing needs.
I bought this pedal at a local guitar center store. It was really easy to assemble and had it set up in no time. Since this was my first double bass pedal I got frustrated because I coudn't do any fast beats using it. But I practiced alot and now I can do tons of awsome beats. This pedal is very smooth and has a good feel to it! If it feels to bouncy, try loosening the bass drum head to get a better hit every time!
Wow I ve owned a pdp, coda, and a pulse double bass pedal and none of them even compare to this one. After all these years of being forced (cause I was broke) to play on heavy, cheap, pedals that where sluggish I finally got the money to buy this one. As soon as I got it out of the box I knew this pedal would be Amazing. For the first time since I've been playing drums this is the first double bass pedal that BOTH pedals have the same resistance. Anyone who says the beaters are heavy try playing on the crap pedals I have for 3 years. I think the sound of the beaters are awesome. They make all fills sound faster. I also believe this pedal is better then an Iron cobra which I found to be really slow. The features are a plus too. The spurs actually hold it in place and the daul chain reduces sloppy double bass. All in all I have not one complaint. GREAT JOB DW!!
I've had this pedal for a year and it is great. The pedals are really high quality and are very smooth, definitely recommended to all drummers, and also a great price.
this pedal is sick! this is one of my favorite pedals (its not as good as the 9002) and its a very durable pedal. ive had it for 2 years. buy this pedal.
I've had this pedal for a few months now, and its really great. Its good for things like 4-stroke ruffs and such, but I've found that when you play steady double-bass work, the screws come undone really quickly. It doesn't matter how tight you tighten them, the screws that hold the bar to the pedal comes loose on both sides, and the screw that holds the cam in place comes loose and even falls out, causing the pedal to become very difficult to control, not to mention a really annoying clicking noise.
I am very impressed with this pedal. I noticed a definite improvement with speed and control after setting the pedals up right out of the box not even tweaking them. Very good investment.
When I first received my 7002 pedal in the mail, I was only mildly impressed. The next day, I took the time to adjust the settings. I have played on it every single day since March 10nth (I got it on my birthday). My only complaint is that you have to tighten everything up every now and then, but its an amazing value. Order it today.
I received this pedal about 2 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with all the features. Not only can you adjust the beater angle and spring tension, as with most pedals, but you can also adjust the footboard angle. This was very helpful because by default, they were a little too steep for my taste. The single post casting on the aux. pedal was nice but unneeded. The base plate stuck out just as much as another post would but i guess it could make switching from the hihat and back easier because there is nothing in your way. The double chain reduced but not eliminated lateral movement but it didn't shake enough to bother me still. The beater are solid but heavy. Faster pedal players may want to replace the beaters with lighter ones. At first the pedal felt clunky but, with time, I became accustomed to them.
So umm....got this thng a bit ago....it wasn't what I was expecting. All the rave of DW was like "I'm totally stoked for this!" but sadly, it fails...The pedal is hard to adjust, it keeps getting really loose, left pedal falls off, heads wabble way too much(It hits me in the foot...and that really sucks) and the head adjusters slide up and down which get's really annoying...So umm...wouldn't really get this thing if I were you. I'm actually planning on getting a Gibralter Intruder which has a direct drive. Hopefully it's not just a pedal conspiracy against little old me.
I have owned the DW7000 pedals about 4 years. They fit my budget well and I have aggressively used them from day one. They kick butt and were well worth the money. So far, with the exception of a little squeak at the end of a recording session the pedals have been flawless. Thanks DW Mitch in SantaRosa Ca.
This pedal is awesome!!! I got mine off ebay a couple months ago so it was nice and broken in. It has great spring and ball-bearing rocker makes it so smooth. Its very heavy duty but still very versatile. You can get it going really fast, I have no problem playing songs from all that remains and the devil wears prada. And I love the beaters. I play a 22 bass with a remo ebony pinstripe, and the rubber side of the beaters give the drum a great punch. It's the best pedal out there in this price range. Buy It Now!!!!
This pedal has far exceeded my expectations. It's comprable with the 5000 series. At this point, I can't tell the difference. You can acheive massive double bass beats and passages with this pedal with ease. It even comes with its own drum key attached! You can't loose with this one! Especially with the great price!
It is the first double bass pedal for me... it's very smooth and i play it for hours with no problems.. it's worth the money
I highly recommend this for anyone from just starting to professional. Of course when I took it out of the box i put it together and I could just feel the durability. This pedal is very good and allows you to build muscle and get very fast. I love this pedal!
I got this in order to play more of a variety of music. It's a lot of fun and real easy to learn how to use, and set up. I recomend this to anyone looking for a double bass pedal for this price. its awsome!! :)
AMAZING. this pedal is simply the best there is. The ONLY downside is the size of the beaters. They are MASSIVE. But I put some Tama iron cobra beaters on it and it helped a ton. I highly recommend buying this pedal. You can not beat DW quality. Just change the beaters and you are set to rock like bands such as Bring me the Horizon or Upside of 4.....AMAZING!
this bass pedal is so awesome and it feels so right. i don't know why but this pedal makes me sound faster than i really am. dude, 10 stars all the way. it's very fast and it's responsive and more. it's so worth the $$$.
This is my first double bass pedal. I got it about a year and a half ago and it still hits. The 9000 pedal by dw is very nice, but i tried this right after trying that and there was no difference that i could tell. Smooth and fast is what you and and what you get. If youve heard 94 Hours by As I Lay Dying or This Calling by All That Remains, i can play those with ease. If not, faster than that....and you dont need to play death metal to own this. you just need to be creative in other styles of music. if you like beating off to blast beats then try playing jazz.
I got this pedal for cheap, and it's great!
