OVERVIEW

The latest advancement in bass-pedal technology.

To create incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action, the DW 9000PB Single Pedal has a Floating Rotor that's not permanently affixed on a conventional drive shaft but is mounted on a free-floating drive shaft using friction-reducing ball bearings. In addition, the patented rotor can be adjusted using the Infinite Torque Adjustment for a variety of positions from center (Turbo-style) to eccentric (Accelerator-style), achieving the desired balance of power and precision in any playing situation. Furthermore, by moving the location of the Floating Spring from the end of the hex shaft to the center of the pedal, the vertical alignment of the moving parts is maintained and the indirect transfer and loss of energy is virtually eliminated - further optimizing the pedal's speed and power and precision.

In addition to Delta ball-bearings at the rocker, hex shaft, and hinge, the 9000 also employs friction-reducing ball-bearings in the rotor and spring connector while incorporating several of the 5000 Series' most popular upgrades such as a stackable heel plate, dual/side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 2-way beater, built-in spurs, and lightweight aluminum pedal plates and linkages. Includes deluxe Cordura bag.

This is the very best pedal on the market. I have read some of the negetive reviews. They are only negetive due to the fact the owner knows nothing of adjusting this pedal to their liking. There are ajustments on this pedal you will find no where else. I only gave the "Value" a 4 due to the price, however if you can step up to this "tank" of a pedal.....get it. I've had this thing for about 6 months and I have had no mercy on it, gigging it, moving it, and of course playing it....Best single pedal I have ever had.....period!!

These are possibly the worst pedals I have ever played on. The pedal is built in such a way that it is nearly impossible to make adjustments. I bought a few different pedals before this one (Iron Cobra, Axis, Pearl), and I really wish I would have stuck with the Axis Longboards. The playing ability on this feels like a rock, and is not smooth at all. For pop and rock bands, this may be what your looking for, but if you need a pedal that can handle extreme metal playing, don't bother with this one.

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

After reading the negative reviews on this pedal. I could not resist the urge to defend it. I have used the 9000 since 2006. If you cannot adjust this pedal to suit your playing style. maybe you need to find another instrument. I went from a Ludwig Speed King to this. And have yet to find a better pedal to replace it with.

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

By far the best pedal I have ever played, great right out of the box at the factory setting, very well made, high quality workman ship. Do yourself a favor and buy this pedal, you will not be disappointed!

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

I've owned a DW 4000, a Ludwig Speed King, and now this pedal. The DW 9000 is, without a doubt, the best of the three--no surprise there. I bought an opened item so I could live with the price; after trying it, I still think the same. If I had to absolutely buy shrinkwrap-new, I'd go for a DW 5000, not sure whether Turbo or Accelerator without trying first.

    Excellent Pedal

    By EDC

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

I recently purchased this pedal after playing on a TAMA Glide Pedal for years. I use to think a pedal didn't make that much of a difference, not anymore. By no stretch of the imagination this DW pedal is far superior to any pedal I've ever played on. Finally a pedal that can articulate every pattern I'm laying down. I literally took this pedal out the box, raised the foot board, loosened the tension spring and it was on. I will say this pedal is so fluid I have to get use to playing on it. My doubles are so fast I sometimes think I only played a single. Real Talk. If you can afford it get it, you won't be sorry. .

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

I bought this pedal based on the rave reviews. What a mistake! I wish now that I'd tried it first. That's clearly my own fault, but to protect future buyers from the same fate as my own, I'll say this: there is NO ROOM for adjustment with this pedal. It is remarkably unresponsive considering the price and hype. I sold this one and bought a yamaha 7210, which is not only a fifth of the price, yet it is much more conducive to dynamic playing. Not the pedal for me, and I would suggest trying before buying, which is always the best way to go.

    BEST Pedal, BUT

    By Keith Dailey

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

My wife stepped up to the plate and surprised me with a new DW 9000! I have been happily using a DW 4000 forever but dreamed of the mighty 9K. Everything about the 9K is as advertised; my foot was at one with the pedal. It simply floats under your foot. I LOVE IT! BUT!!! Last night in the middle of playing a TOP tune with my cover band it broke! The spring broke!! I'm gonna get it fixed when I can find the parts, but it BROKE!! I am not happy right now at all but I will get it fixed as soon as I can find the parts and nervously use it again.

    Sweet Pedal

    By SneakyJake

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

This pedal is great just straight up. It comes with a bunch of features and options but found that the way it comes is best. The one down side is that the bag sucks. The zipper broke after just two gigs. Don't think the bag is a perk but I would pick this pedal over any other one.

    Pedal of my dreams

    By someone-fS4aI

    from Lansing, MI

Comments about DW 9000PB Single Pedal:

My wife just bought this pedal for me for my birthday, and I can't believe how amazing it is (or she is--whooohooo!). I grew up playing a Pearl strap drive, and always liked the power that pedal had, even if it lacked speed. I liked the speed I could get from my school's speedking, but it was weak and kind of flimsy by today's standards. I had a remo chain drive, and it was worse that the speed king. I've played an Axis for years, but I've always struggled to get the right balance between speed and power on it. The beater head is ridiculous on that pedal, and switching it out always ruined the action. I like a big boom, not a tiny, muted click or thump. For years, I've thought my right foot was weak or that my bass drums (a 22" '62 Slingerland and a 70's 26x10" Ludwig) were just kind of quiet drums. When I got the new pedal last night, though, I swear, my bass drum doubled in volume and fullness of tone. The pedal gives me the power of my old Pearl and even more speed than the Axis, and I haven't even tweaked it yet! The pedal is just amazing. Yeah, it's a bit expensive and there are a lot of models out there that "do the trick" for less money, but even most of those pedals (old 5000's, Iron Cobras, Flying Dragons, Axis pedals) were at one time about as expensive as these are. Looking at the negative reviews, I think they might be the result of moving from a decent pedal to an unbelievable pedal. A Taurus is easier to drive than a Ferrari, but it wouldn't take long to adjust to a Ferrari and make it do far more than a Taurus ever could. My first Pearl strap drive was a piece of crap compared to what's out there today, but I've always missed its power. The 9000 gives me even more power, plus speed and accuracy right out of the box. It's unbelievably clean and sturdy--I feel kind of unworthy to own such a fantastic piece of equipment, especially since I was already lucky to have an Axis.
