OVERVIEW

Reusable hearing protection.

Whether you are a musician, attend concerts or are regularly exposed to music played at high levels, Earasers don't plug up your ears and muffle sound like more conventional earplugs. Manufactured by a 45+ year hearing aid company, and developed by their lead engineer - a musician for over 20 years - Earasers filter out loud noise while still allowing you to hear at a safe, comfortable level.

Musicians have to be able to focus on the different layers of instrumentation. Earasers utilize a unique attenuation "V filter" to provide up to 19dB of protection in the frequencies you need it most. The result is the world's first flat frequency response earplugs.

Most comfortable with improved sound.
The Earasers soft silicone design is based on one of the most widely used hearing aid tips in the market. There is no need for expensive trips to a specialist to get custom ear molds. The Smart Seal technology conforms to the shape of your ear canal for a more comfortable fit that you can wear all day.

Earasers can be cleaned and reused. Most adult women wear size small. Most adult men wear size Medium.'

I am a drummer in a metal band and hate foam ear plugs...to the point that I stopped using them because they "plug" the sound so badly and are uncomfortable. Instead of throwing absorbant amounts of money at custom molded plugs I did a lot of research online that brought me to this pair of Earasers.

Firstly, I should say that Musician's Friend shipped them out ridiculously fast. I'm a big guy, 6' 1", and I bought the mediums and they fit perfectly. They're not loose and they're not putting unnecessary pressure on my ears; nice comfortable fit for hours. The sound quality is amazing with these. My best way of describing is if you're at a concert the sound level is at a 10, these ear plugs turn it down to a 7. It's still loud, but not damaging loud, which is exactly what I was looking for. I have since turned the other guys on in my band to these and will recommend them to anyone that wants to save their ears and the quality of the music they're listening to.

I'm not a musician, but a dancer and am regularly at events where the music is at 89 decibels and can have issues with quality since the recordings are older. I started shopping for earplugs that would not muffle the sound (foam plugs are so irritating! especially when you want to hear what you're listening to).

Got a set of these and they are comfortable and do a good job...up to a point. They just don't cut enough decibels once over 85-86. My hearing is not damaged to begin with and I want to keep it that way, but unfortunately, these aren't the answer for intact or extra sensitive ears.

I'll use them at happily at lower volumes and look for something else to handle higher levels. The Fender Touring Earplugs do cut enough decibels and maintain nice sound quality, but they are too big for my ears and are uncomfortable (I'm a woman).

Would recommend to others based on the conditions they are in and sensitivity of their hearing.

      Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I bought these after looking at them for awhile. I play every weekend and sometimes during the week with either my rock band or my country rock band. I used Earasers for 3 gigs before reviewing them. They do fit well and are comfortable. What they don't do is block enough sound level dB to protect my ears. I already have the dreaded the tinnitus ringing, so I'm pretty picky about my ear plugs. These say right on the box that they only provide 5 dB of overall noise reduction. That might be enough for a pan flute concert, but for me playing rock and roll it's just not enough. Since it is a non-returnable item I decided that I either need to toss them in the trash or try modifying them. I filled the back side of them with some flexible silicone adhesive from the big-box hardware retailer, which provides much more sound dampening. I know that modifying them voids the warranty, but at least they actually block sound now and protect my ears.
If you are playing with an acoustic group without amplification these will work fine just like they are. If you are playing with amplified music and especially anything with slamming drums you are probably going to need something with more sound reduction dB level of protection. Just my opinion.

First set of ear plugs I've owned. Very impressed. Sound is indeed quieter, of course, but clear. Best of all, my ears don't ring and with tinnitus in the family, this is a good thing! :)

I purchased these last year when I realized I had ringing in my ears after playing during our worship service. I have a partially enclosed drum cage with a monitor at ear level. The product works extremely well, reducing harmful sounds (cymbals) without distorting the things I need to hear. I believe they've saved my hearing and allowed me to worship on!

                  Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I have been in a constant battle with earplugs as a drummer. Whether it is drumline, drum set, cymbals, etc, most in-ear/over-ear monitors and ear plugs either don't provide enough decibel reduction, or they reduce the bass frequencies too much (very annoying when trying to hear the kick drum).
Then I saw these at a drumshow and I was blown away! These do EXACTLY what they say! They reduce the high frequencies but keep the low frequencies relatively unaffected. For those saying they don't have enough db reduction, they are NOT supposed to provide BROAD spectrum reduction (read the description or the Attenuation Curve graphic provided)! The company that makes them does make a large size which unfortunately it appears MF doesn't carry. You may want to clean your ear canals if they fall out often or you wear them for exerted periods of time.
It is a very unusual sensation when you first use them. I would suggest only using these for practicing, if you play piccolo (or some other high frequency instrument), and high volume situations that don't require monitors (such as a high school/college pep band or possibly concerts [I haven't tried latter]). As a drummer I recommend Shure 535's as in-ear monitors if you expect to use them often otherwise the 215's work great too.

These are the third set of ear protection devices I have owned. I tried two other brands and were not happy because they muffled the sound too much, or made it difficult to hear all of the frequencies. This set works great, and I can hear the rest of the band and my own instrument the way they are supposed to sound.

                    Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I recently purchased two additional plug brands to these: LiveMusic HearSafe, and V-Moda Faders VIP. If your main objective is minimizing the muffling effect of most plugs, this is the one. I also had a pair of Westone custom plugs that cost a lot more and none of them comes close to the clarity you get with these. Further, they remain extremely comfortable after wearing them for two hours during rehearsal, I almost forgot to take them out when we were done.

My only complaints are that they don't strike me as a good choice for reducing the volume level of an extremely loud concert down to a manageable level. I haven't tried them for that purpose yet, but the volume reduction I'm hearing isn't as great a the other brands. Also, because they go deep into your ear canal, the stubby little handles require some fishing around before you can get a grip on them.
