Earasers

Reusable hearing protection.

Whether you are a musician, attend concerts or are regularly exposed to music played at high levels, Earasers don’t plug up your ears and muffle sound like more conventional earplugs. Manufactured by a 45+ year hearing aid company, and developed by their lead engineer - a musician for over 20 years - Earasers filter out loud noise while still allowing you to hear at a safe, comfortable level.

Musicians have to be able to focus on the different layers of instrumentation. Earasers utilize a unique attenuation “V filter” to provide up to 19dB of protection in the frequencies you need it most. The result is the world’s first flat frequency response earplugs.

Most comfortable with improved sound.
The Earasers soft silicone design is based on one of the most widely used hearing aid tips in the market. There is no need for expensive trips to a specialist to get custom ear molds. The Smart Seal technology conforms to the shape of your ear canal for a more comfortable fit that you can wear all day.

Earasers can be cleaned and reused. Most adult women wear size small. Most adult men wear size Medium.’

I am a drummer in a metal band and hate foam ear plugs...to the point that I stopped using them because they "plug" the sound so badly and are uncomfortable. Instead of throwing absorbant amounts of money at custom molded plugs I did a lot of research online that brought me to this pair of Earasers.

Firstly, I should say that Musician's Friend shipped them out ridiculously fast. I'm a big guy, 6' 1", and I bought the mediums and they fit perfectly. They're not loose and they're not putting unnecessary pressure on my ears; nice comfortable fit for hours. The sound quality is amazing with these. My best way of describing is if you're at a concert the sound level is at a 10, these ear plugs turn it down to a 7. It's still loud, but not damaging loud, which is exactly what I was looking for. I have since turned the other guys on in my band to these and will recommend them to anyone that wants to save their ears and the quality of the music they're listening to.

I'm not a musician, but a dancer and am regularly at events where the music is at 89 decibels and can have issues with quality since the recordings are older. I started shopping for earplugs that would not muffle the sound (foam plugs are so irritating! especially when you want to hear what you're listening to).

Got a set of these and they are comfortable and do a good job...up to a point. They just don't cut enough decibels once over 85-86. My hearing is not damaged to begin with and I want to keep it that way, but unfortunately, these aren't the answer for intact or extra sensitive ears.

I'll use them at happily at lower volumes and look for something else to handle higher levels. The Fender Touring Earplugs do cut enough decibels and maintain nice sound quality, but they are too big for my ears and are uncomfortable (I'm a woman).

Would recommend to others based on the conditions they are in and sensitivity of their hearing.

    Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

Used the Earasers for a rehearsal in a confined space. They worked as described. They reduce the volume about 20% overall, and tend to reduce the highs a bit more than the rest of the range. Everything can still be heard clearly. No muffled sound like that which you get from foam earplugs. My ears didn't ring anywhere close to as much after rehearsal as they used to. Best way to describe it is if the band's volume is a "9", then these reduce it to a "7". They're not perfect, but I refuse to pay up to five times their price for custom fitted earplugs. I'm satisfied with them, and will use them for all rehearsals.

        Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I do not think of myself as having unusually large ear canals, but the larger of the two plug sizes just sat there in my ear, plugging nothing, decreasing nothing. My opinion of these expensive little guys could not be more negative, and of course, earplugs are one of the few non-returnable items in the MF catalog, so I just wasted my money.

they could cut a few more dbs, but these are still

              Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I first tried the High fidelity plugs and liked the improvement that they are from foam ear plugs. However, they still had undesirable effects on the sound quality. These ear plugs were a huge improvement. The problem, however, is with the quality of the materials. As per the manufacturer's recommendations, I cleaned the ear plugs after each use. In order for water to not get trapped and to get all the hidden wax out from inside, you have to take out the inner piece (which it's designed to do). But with constantly taking that in and out, coupled with the in and out of the ear, the silicon on the inside ripped deeming the left ear plug unusable. I'm going to try sending it back because the product only underwent normal use. For this price, I would hope the material would be better. Fantastic sound quality. You can only hope for so much at this price point.

              Comments about Earasers Musicians Plugs:

I really like these, but like any plug they DO alter your perception of sound-you couldn't use these and mix very well for example. But once you're up and rolling, I like using these a lot-not a lot of attenuation, but enough to take the edge off. This is critical for me since I"m apparently not as deaf as many of the people I play with...and aim not to be. I also own the Etymotic (blues), which are better suited for smaller practice spaces/gigs where these don't protect well enough.

These are, by far, the best ear protection I have ever used before. Notice that I used the word "protection" since all other ear plugs just "plug" the sound. These feel comfortable while playing and don't slip or pop out while moving around the drum kit. Also, I like that they are clear so you can conseal them and they don't stick out of your ears like other brands. I can now hear all sound levels perfectly during practicing or live performances. Great product!
