OVERVIEW

Steel on the inside, space-age polymer on the outside!

Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Crafted to last, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a warm, robust tone that sounds "played-in" right out of the pack while still retaining a remarkably clear mid-range presence. The POLYWEB Coating brings a soft, slick, and fast feel to the playing experience.

For a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel, try Elixir's ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit, especially if you’re also looking for a crisper, brighter, and more vibrant tone. For strings that strike a dynamic balance between full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity, our Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings deliver exactly that alongside our NANOWEB Coating’s more traditional feel.

I've been using the Polyweb Elixers for years, and I can say from experience that with a normal amount of changing, I have never broken one, and they always sound great, even a month into playing! If you're ever in doubt as to whether you should spend the cash on Elixers, tha answer is yes. Always yes. If you're a beginner or someone who doesn't play often, but these and string your guitar with them. They'll last longer and won't corrode out and get junk all over your fretboard if you don't string or play them often. Totally worth it.

I am the youth worship leader at my church. After reading a review on the strings I thought I would give them a try. I practice several times a week to get ready for Sunday, by no means am I a shreader or a string killer. I usualy use the Musicians friend brand and have had no real complaints other than they tarnish quickly and they don't last long but what strings do on an acoustic? Though I have yet to have any "peeling" as mentioned in other reviews I did notice that the poly web makes the strings thicker which is just more for my clumbsey fingers to buzz on. They do however do seem to last longer. I am still trying to kill the strings so that I can put a new set on, which shouldnt be much longer. For the money I could have bought several sets of other name brand quality strings. Not realy worth the extra money for the coating, I think I'll try some bronze strings next. Don't waist your money.

Expensive, and unbalanced tone

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

The bass strings are quite pronounced but dull sounding, and the B and E strings are disproportionally balanced, or very thin sounding in comparison to bass strings. Standard 80/20 strings are much brighter and offer better tone than these strings. Standard guitar strings are also much more reasonably priced considering the somewhat muffled tone of these Elixir strings. I think the money these strings cost (when compared to better sounding average priced strings) is money not well spent.

Young Nashville 'guns' say these are the BEST!

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

Try a set of these Elixirs, you WILL hear the difference. The Custom Lights are balanced a little better between the 2nd and 3rd strings.Elixir's are what all the 'young guns' in Music City Play.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

These Elixir strings are absolutely the best acoustic strings I have ever played. I just put a set of Custom Lights on my new Washburn, and what a difference! They're both bright and punchy at the same time. I also have a set of Elixir Mediums on my Ovation, and I think I'll change them to these Custom Lights. They're a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. I will never use another kind of acoustic string again.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

My first experience with these string was on an Alvarez pawn shop guitar. Immediately I loved the silky smooth feel and the slightly darker/mellow tone I heard. It was at that moment that I knew it was time to replace the Martin strings that came standard on my Rogue Grand Concert. With a fresh set of these on the little Rogue sounds and feels like a much more expensive instrument. My only complaint about these strings, like most cheap skates, is the price. If they sound this great for an extended period of time then they are well worth it. Your fingers and your ears will thank you.

I use these on my 000 size Acoustic, the life and tone are really good and the lighter strings are easier on my hands. If i need more volume I can plug it in. After installing new strings I stretch them before bring up to pitch a couple of times tuning after that and they stay there with a tweek once in a while.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Custom Light (.011-.052):

I posted a review of these Poly Web strings on 1-6-17 before using them. The review was very positive based on Nano Web Elixir strings I've used in the past. Big mistake! The coating on the Poly Web strings started coming off of the strings very quickly. I thought that the "lint" I was seeing around the strings was from the Elixir string cloth that I was using to wipe them down after playing, but it wasn't. It was the coating. I won't buy Poly Web ever again.
