OVERVIEW

A solution to gunky strings!

Jam on and on (and on) with the same premium acoustic guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands’ coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn’t love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

Crafted to last, these acoustic strings constructed with 80/20 (80% copper, 20% zinc) bronze wrap wire boast a warm, robust tone that sounds "played-in" right out of the pack while still retaining a remarkably clear mid-range presence. The POLYWEB Coating brings a soft, slick, and fast feel to the playing experience.

For a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel, try Elixir's ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating. The 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, for example, might be a good fit, especially if you’re also looking for a crisper, brighter, and more vibrant tone. For strings that strike a dynamic balance between full-bodied tone and sparkling high-end clarity, our Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings deliver exactly that alongside our NANOWEB Coating’s more traditional feel.

I'm only giving them a 9 because I think the Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze strings are a better string .
For clear bell like tones the polyweb is the way to fly. I would rather spend the extra few bucks and buy the Elixir strings and sound my best (I need all the help I can get!). I just picked up a custom made custom inlayed guitar and these are the strings that are on it. I was going to switch them out with the nanoweb phosphor bronze strings but then I listened to the clear unamplified sound of the strings and it was so sweet. I figured I could wait to change strings until these wear out. Good strings. Good choice. Step up too the plate and get 'em.
These strings last for more than two months which I find to be true accross the board with Elixxir strings. The best the competition can do is about a month. Good strings. Good choice. Get 'em!
What more can I say, they last a long time Which means in the long run they are cheper to own.

i donno if this really is long lasting...i used martin SP before i tried the elixirs. I was told how CRAZY these strings were and longetivity of it. I gotta admit that there's something different about these strings and they seem to be better, but i've broken more than 10 strings for the past 2weeks i played. I RARELY broke my martins...i'm getting doubts on these elixirs..

These elixirs are GREAT!! I had a slight injury RSI, on one finger from playing a different type of strings, then my guitar tech introduced me to these elixirs, WOW what a difference, they play like butter and I can play long sets with no pain.

hhmmm....

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

If you've broken ten strings in two weeks, you need to learn how to strum again. Because your strumming wrong. I've played guitar for 10 years, and I can probably count on my hands, (and maybe my toes), how many strings I have broken. (Myself, not other people playing my stuff.) I have used elixir for years, no complaints...

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

I've been putting these on my Taylor ever since I got it. I had a beater Johnson and ran out of cheap strings to put on it and decided to put some of these on it. I couldn't believe the great sound that came out of it. I put them on my small travel guitar and it made it louder and sound better. I will use these on all my acoustic guitars from now on.

I've been using Elixer's medium polywebs on my accoustic for years, just assuming they were the best choice. As I age, my hand strength has decreased, so a freind suggested the Extra Lights. I balked, thinking, "No, those will sound tinny with no bottom." Wrong. They sound great, and are much easier to sound at the first fret. Try em, you'll like em.

I use both Nanoweb and Polyweb Elixirs. I have found both to be top quality, lasting about 3 times longer than other brands. They sound great, feel good and are priced right for the amount of time they last.

These strings are unbelievable. I have a Martin 0M-28V that sounded great but for some reason was just a little bit harder to play than my other guitars. I put these strings on and couldn't believe it. The action now is so much better. They made playing the guitar effortlessly. I highly recommend these strings.

These strings play very nice but the E&A strings fussed up after a couple of weeks. They play and tune ok but look really funky!

          Acoustics

          By Gary McKee

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings with POLYWEB Coating, Extra Light (.010-.047):

I've been using these strings for several years now. For me they have never broken that I can remember. The coating these strings have don't just help in the longevity..they almost eliminate the acoustic string "singing" (for lack of a better word)..the zing-zing noise when your fingers slide up and down on a standard string. Electrified, the noise can be quite annoying. A little pricey but as with anything else, you get what you pay for. I'd never use anything else on an acoustic.
